{A preview of a fun spring outfit coming to the blog soon! Follow me on social media @miss_alk}
- Two Netflix movies: I did something very out of the ordinary for me over the weekend... I watched two brand new Netflix original movies! I am always the last person on earth to see what's new on Netflix, so right now I feel very hip and on trend, haha. I watched The Perfect Date and Someone Great. I absolutely loved The Perfect Date! It was the most adorable high school rom com, and I also felt that it was a great portrayal of high school culture in 2019. On the other hand... Someone Great is actually something terrible. One of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. Filled with drug use and sexual content, and a terrible plot that didn't really have a resolution at the end. Watch The Perfect Date but skip Someone Great!
- Reader survey: On Monday, I shared my blog's annual reader survey! It is still open through this week- if you haven't taken it yet I would so appreciate if you did! It takes just 2-3 minutes to complete, and every single answer and opinion helps with my future blog and social media content. I also posted a little giveaway on Instagram as a thank you to everyone for completing this, so be sure to enter that while it's still open.
- VOTE for my radio station: In addition to the reader survey, there's one other quick favor that you could do for me this week that I would appreciate so much! 😊The nominations for the 2019 Best of Charlottesville awards just opened, and it would be such an honor to win Best Radio Personality (vote Anna Lise - Z 95.1) and Best Radio Station (Z 95.1)!! Both of these are under the Entertainment category. You don't have to live in Charlottesville to vote in this. Thank you in advance!!
Weekend recaps:
- Last weekend: My friend Liane from Charlotte came to visit! Spring is such a great season to have visitors in Cville. We were able to hit three wineries on Saturday, which is like my perfect day! On Sunday, we went to church and then had brunch downtown which has a great end to the best weekend.
- This weekend: My plans are still a little up in the air. I do know I need to make a Richmond trip at some point to return something that my mom bought there when she visited, and while I'm down there I'll probably treat myself to a little shopping too. Hopefully it'll be a great weekend either way!
Purchases:
- While my mom was here, we both bought new sneakers. I got this pair for the gym, as I really needed new indoor workout shoes! So far I really like them.
Wishlist:
- I am in dire need of a new pair of white jeans! I've heard good things about this pair.
- This is a cute little spring romper that's just $20! I like all three colors it comes in.
- In tomorrow's blog post, I'll be sharing more about the floral maxi dress that I wore to wineries over the weekend. This one is similar to mine, and I also really like it!
- I wear a lot of flat sandals to work in the spring and summer. These metallic sandals are fun!
- Lilly Pulitzer has started releasing their summer collections, and I'm obsessed! The Steffi dress in one of the new prints is gorgeous- hoping it'll be in the After Party Sale!
Recipe of the week: Italian Herb Meatballs from The Slow Roasted Italian. An old favorite of mine that I've definitely shared on the blog before. When I have company visiting, I love to make at least one dinner at home, and it's usually pasta with a homemade sauce and these meatballs!
Song of the week: Boy with Luv by BTS ft. Halsey. As much as I love European music, I haven't really gotten on the K-Pop train yet. This song might have sold me!! It is a dance anthem, and I really like Halsey's verses in it. Plus a fun and colorful music video!
Favorite blog posts of the week:
- Heather Bien - As a geography and travel nerd, I got such a kick out of this post. Heather compared all four methods of travel from DC to NYC- bus, train, car and flying. I grew up going to NYC a lot from my home in Maine with my parents, and we did all four of those travel methods over the years, so I totally related to her points.
- What Nicole Wore - My favorite outfit of the week goes to Nicole! She looked STUNNING in this dress- and I love the color combination.
- Magnolia Charles - This personal post from Sally was so sweet. She is about to travel to Charleston, SC for the first time, which has been a longtime dream of hers! This post reminded me so much of how I felt traveling to North Carolina for the first time years ago to visit colleges there.
On the blog this week:
God Bless,
xoxo Annaliese
I've begun to give Netflix movies a go too, and some of them aren't too bad! The Perfect Date is the one I watched most recently and I really liked it! I also thought Isn't It Romantic was pretty fun too.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the shoutout friend! I thought about watching Someone Great last weekend but the preview made me think it wasn't exactly my cup of tea; glad I skipped it.

Both of those movies are in my queue! Sad to hear Someone Great isn't good -- I love Gina Rodriguez.

ReplyDeleteI voted for you, I hope that you win! I also saw bits and pieces of The Perfect Date and it was a good movie for a Friday night. I also curious, how did you set up your readers' survey? I was hoping to do one as well.
ReplyDeleteHi there! I use Survey Monkey (the free version) for surveys. :)
