What I Wore to Work: April 2019.

April is the month that it really starts to feel like spring in Virginia, and my work outfits this month definitely reflected the warmer weather. Here are outfit snaps of my work looks from April! I post all of these on my LiketoKnow.it page with links to the specific items, or something similar, so if you're interested in shopping any of these check out my LTK. 😊

TRAVEL GUIDE: 10 Fun Things To Do in Charlotte, NC.

Wrapping up my Charlotte Travel Guide mini-series on the blog today! I lived in Charlotte for four years, and it's been so much fun to finally share all of my Queen City favorites with you. Since I have so many places to recommend, I thought it would be easier to break everything down into three Travel Guides: restaurants and nightlife, lodging, and finally today's- fun things to do!

10 Things I Need To Do For My Blog (+ Things I'm Glad I Have Done!)

I can't believe that come September, I will have been blogging for seven years! (I also can't believe I'll be halfway through my 20s in September, but that's another discussion.) My strategy and goals with blogging have definitely changed a lot since I published my first outfit post as a college freshman- which is good! But as I'm starting to reflect on the years so far in preparation for year seven, I'm starting to make a list of things that I really should be doing for my blog or as a blogger. I'm writing all of these publicly on my blog to 1) hold myself accountable to actually do them this spring and summer (if I publish goals on the blog I'm a lot more likely to do them!), 2) to give you an inside look at all the behind-the-scenes stuff that goes into running a successful blog if you're not a blogger yourself, and 3) if you are a fellow blogger, I'd love to hear in the comments if you've done any of these things and they worked for your blog.

Nashville Travel Diary.

I traveled to Nashville for the first time last month, and I'm finally recapping everything for you today! Nashville is a super trendy tourism spot right now, and of course it's a huge destination for bachelorette parties. My dad had a work conference in Nasvhille, so my mom and I joined him and made it a long weekend family vacation. Before my trip, tons of friends told me that I would love everything about Nasvhille, and some even said I might love it so much that I'd want to move there! Needless to say- I had big expectations. After visiting, I can say Nashville exceeded some expectations, but definitely fell short in other ways- which I'll get into later!

Continuing with my Charlotte, NC Travel Guides for this month's Tuesday blog post series! Two are very budget friendly, and the other three are a little bit higher end, so there's an option for everyone.

The BEST Shein Buys for Spring/Summer.

For a good few years now, I've loved shopping at Shein! I feel like a lot of bloggers also shop there and promote their items, so I'm guessing you might have heard of this retailer. 😊I like to think of Shein as kind of an online only version of Forever 21. They always have the trendiest clothing, accessories, shoes and swimwear, and at really low prices. Similar to F21- the quality isn't always the greatest on everything, but the prices are low and there are gems to be found!

My Best Budget Travel Tips!

Travel is one of my favorite things in the world! Whether visiting somewhere domestically or abroad, I truly believe that every destination has something that makes it unique and awesome to be discovered. The major downside to traveling of course? It can be expensive. Over the past few years, I've been figuring out tips, tricks, and methods to travel cheaply, but still comfortably. While this isn't the stage of life that I can be jetting off on two-week long global adventures, I have learned how to maximize weekend and long weekend trips, and get the most bang for my buck! Sharing the travel tips that have worked for me in today's post!

TRAVEL GUIDE: The Best Restaurants & Nightlife in Charlotte, NC.

Confession: I can't believe the first time I'm writing a post like this is TWO YEARS after I moved away from Charlotte! This is long overdue. I loved my years in Charlotte, and a big part of that was due to the incredible restaurants and fun nightlife there! I'm sharing all of my favorites in today's Travel Guide, as we continue with this month's Tuesday blog series (all about Charlotte).

My Favorite Time of Year + White Lace Dress.

It's the most wonderful time of the year... all of the flowering trees of the South are in full bloom! There's just no time of year to me as beautiful as this. Fall is nice and all I suppose, but I'd take a blooming tree over fall foliage any day. This weekend, I was supposed to be going up to DC to see their famous cherry blossoms. Unfortunately, the trees up there reached peak bloom a little earlier than normal this year (last weekend), and on Friday there were heavy rains in that area... so I ended up cancelling my day trip as there wouldn't have been that much to see. 😓 Fortunately- I found these beautiful flowering trees here in Charlottesville to still take pictures with!

Nashville Tourist Outfit.

Happy Thursday! Today I'm sharing an outfit that I wore in Nashville a few weeks ago. I normally only share camera photos for outfit posts on the blog, but today I'm mixing things up a little bit as these are actually all iPhone photos.

3 Steps to Planning the Perfect Girls' Trip.

There are few things that I love more than a girls' trip. Not only is is fun to discover a new place (or discover new things to do in a favorite destination that you've been to before), but it's even more enjoyable when in the company of good girlfriends! Some of the most special memories that I have with my friends were made on girls' trips.

My Charlottesville friend group and I recently got back from our first girls' trip- which was a weekend in Charlotte, NC! I lived in Charlotte for four years (for college and a bit after), so it was so fun to bring my friends from post-grad life to a city that's not only special to me, but also has a lot of fun things to do for a weekend trip. (In tomorrow's blog post, I'll be sharing everything we did in Charlotte!) All of us had a great time, and we're already chatting about doing a beach trip sometime this spring or summer. I'm so excited to be teaming up with Custom Ink in today's blog post, to share how I designed and ordered some adorable matching sweatshirts for my friends and I to take on future trips, as well as a couple tips to plan the perfect girls' trip!

Today's post is sponsored by Custom Ink. All opinions are honest and my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Southern Belle in Training!
