Midweek Ramblings.

Ramblings:
  • Last week to nominate: I know I've mentioned this on the blog and Instagram Stories already- but this is the last week to nominate me (listed as Anna Lise - Z95.1) for best local radio personality in the annual Best of C-Ville awards! You don't have to live in Charlottesville to vote on this, and it takes just a few seconds. Voting begins soon, but for now I would love your nomination to the ballot!
  • Big Bang Theory: One of my very favorite TV shows airs its final episode tomorrow night, and I am feeling all the feelings! I have been obsessed with The Big Bang Theory for the past five years- I actually saw my first episode of the show randomly while channel searching during a spring break trip with my dad. I couldn't believe I'd never seen it before, and that summer I binge watched the DVDs of all the previous seasons. 12 years is an incredible run for a show (and I'm not sure how they could have kept it for more years to come), but either way I'm still so sad to see it end tomorrow night. I'm planning to stay up past my work bedtime and watch the final episode live!
  • More TV news: One of the many reasons that I love this time of year is because of all the upcoming TV season news that happens! The networks are all announcing what shows they're cancelling, which are continuing, and the pilots picked up for the fall season. This article from Variety gives a great round-up of which shows the major networks have cancelled so far- this is the first year in a few that no shows that I'm currently watching were cancelled prematurely so I'm happy about that! And here's another article highlighting new shows coming in the fall.
  • Shenandoah free admission: This is for all of my fellow Virginia people! Charlottesville is only about 30 minutes from the southern entrance to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive, but I've only gone once since I moved here! Part of that is because like all national parks, there is an entrance fee. I'd like to make another Shenandoah day trip this summer, and I just saw they have a fee free day coming up June 15th! Check out their full calendar here- if you also live in Virginia you know how lucky we are to have such a beautiful state!

Weekend Recaps:
  • Last weekend: I went on two great dates! That's all I'm going to say for now about that on the blog- hahaha! 😊 In addition to that, on Saturday my friend Abigail and I went to a tasting party at Thatch Winery here in Charlottesville. Thatch Winery used to be called First Colony, and they had a party on Saturday for their wine club members and local influencers/media to come out and celebrate the re-branding. I also stopped by my friend Leslie's housewarming party! On Sunday, I went to visit a new-to-me church and I loved it, so that was a great way to start the day!
  • This weekend: My dad is coming to visit! My mom was recently here visiting over Easter, so I'm glad to get to spend time with my dad as well. Both my parents love Delilah so much- it is so cute to see her visiting with them! My dad and I are spending a couple days this weekend in another part of Virginia that I haven't been to yet, so I'm excited for that.

Purchases:
  • I shared a try-on haul for Amazon Fashion on Instagram Stories on Sunday evening! The only thing I kept was this top- I bought it in the bright pink color, and I wore it on Sunday. I returned this white blouse and this workout top as I didn't like how they fit on me.
  • This adorable blouse! I wore that this weekend too. It'll also be a perfect top for work.

Wishlist:
  • Fell in love with these navy heels this week (they also come in black and a lighter color), but sadly they're sold out of my size in-store and online. If you wear one of the sizes still in stock though, they are a great deal!
  • This might be one of the cutest one-piece swimsuits I've seen for this season!
  • The ideal tie-front shirt that's also work appropriate.
  • I have a beloved Kendra Scott bracelet that I have worn several days a week for years, and I love this similar version in silver!
  • I keep going back and forth over whether I should get these sandals - they're so cute and a great price!

Recipe of the week: No Bake Icebox Cake from my blog! My mom's recipe for No-Bake Icebox Cake is my favorite summer dessert, and incredibly easy to make. I made it yesterday for the first time of the year to bring tonight to dinner with my girlfriends! I shared the recipe a couple years ago here on the blog.

Song of the week: Last Hurrah by Bebe Rexha. There is so much good Top 40 music out right now and I am so here for it!! Loving the latest from Bebe Rexha.

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Something Delightful - Rachel always shares such fun matching outfits with her daughter, and I loved her openness in this post about things she wished she had told herself when she first learned she was pregnant a few years ago!
  • The Sweetest Thing - Emily shared her favorite items for organization from The Container Store. I'm moving to a new apartment in a few months, and already on the hunt for ways to make it even more organized than my current place!
  • Brighton the Day - Brighton is the queen of sharing multiple ways to wear something, and I loved this post showing how she styles a basic striped t-shirt!

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

      xoxo Annaliese

  1. I can't believe Big Bang is coming to an end! I haven't seen every episode, but it's been on so long it's hard to imagine it wrapping up. I hope the finale is satisfying for you!

  7. I am SO sad about the Big Bang Theory ending! It's one of the only TV shows I love enough to actually purchase the DVDs of 😂 I'm actually still missing the last season, so once the final one comes out on DVD, I'm going to buy them both and cry my eyes out whilst binge-watching them!

  8. Tonight is the night for the final episode of BBT. I live in Japan, so I have to catch it this weekend. But, it had a memorable 12 years. I think it is time to rewatch the series from the beginning.
