Ramblings:
  • 21 books so far: One of my resolutions for 2019 was to read 52 books- one book a week! As of Monday, I finished my 21st book. It's currently week 19 of the year, so I'm about a book and a half ahead of schedule, which is really encouraging! While I've been lucky to read some great books so far this year, it does feel like I have a lot of pressure on myself to read super fast. I'm not sure I'll make the same resolution again next year, but for now I'm still enjoying it full force! You can always keep up with what I'm currently reading by following me on GoodReads.
  • Met Gala: Are you a big fan of Met Gala fashion? While this isn't an event that I obsess over by any means, I do always enjoy seeing the red carpet pictures after the fact. This year my favorite outfits were worn by Kacey Musgraves, Katy Perry and Gemma Chan! Katy's chandelier outfit was so over the top, but yet I loved it! I also liked this Vogue article which explained a bit more about 2019's Met Gala theme "Camp".
  • Charlotte Bunnies: You might think that my favorite animal is cats (since I'm obsessed with my Delilah)- but my favorite animal actually is and has always been rabbits! Currently in Charlotte, there is an outdoor exhibit of giant inflatable bunnies. They will be on display in Uptown through May 11. I've been so jealous seeing people that I follow on Instagram from Charlotte getting to see the bunnies in person- they're adorable! Hopefully this becomes an annual tradition and I can make it down for another time.
Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: So busy but so wonderful! After being home most of the week feeling under the weather, it was great to be out of Charlottesville for various day trips on Friday, Saturday and Sunday! On Sunday, I got to help with an ADPi alumni event- this is the first time that I've done anything sorority related in a few years, so it felt really great to get back into that!
  • This weekend: Another busy one ahead that I'm looking so forward to! 😊 I'm going to a winery tasting party on Saturday afternoon which should be great- I'm sure I'll recap that on the blog soon.
Purchases:
  • A few fun purchases this week! My favorite one was this leopard print blouse- I'm in need of more work tops for spring/summer, and this one is super versatile and at a great price.
  • My best bargain find of the week was this striped dress! It's on-sale online currently, but I got an even better deal on it in-store and scored it for under $20!
  • I needed a new pair of white skinny jeans for this season, and I was excited to find this pair for under $25.
  • I made only one purchase from the most recent Sephora Beauty Insider sale- and it was actually something that I really needed! It sure is hard to have self control in a Sephora sale- haha! My one purchase was this face primer , which a sales associate recommended to me as being great for longwear makeup days.
Wishlist:
  • I think I mentioned the Lilly new arrivals in last Wednesday's post, but I actually saw them in-store on Friday! Oh my word- I think this is my favorite summer collection in a few years. I love this casual dress!
  • How cute is this summer shirt? It's like a fun and chic take on Hawaiian tourist shirts!
  • I'm considering storing my jewelry in a totally new way when I move into a new apartment in September. I really like this jewelry storage mirror- so unique!
  • A cute and sparkly pair of summer flats for under $25!
  • This eyelet top is so darling and I can't believe it's under $10.
Recipe of the week: Perfect Enchiladas from The Pioneer Woman. Super easy and one of my favorite recipes I've found in 2019! They also make delicious leftovers. They're well seasoned already, but I think taste even better with a little hot sauce on top.

Song of the week: Con Calma (remix) by Daddy Yankee ft. Katy Perry. Is it just me, or does anyone else think there's so much good Top 40 out right now?! I feel like 2018 was a really bleh year overall with pop music, so I'm here for everything coming out now. I'm so happy that the Con Calma remix is gaining popularity- I love Latin pop and I feel like we all need a great follow-up to Despacito!

Favorite blog posts this week:
  • Becoming Bailey - I've been reading Bailey's blog for years (and we got to meet in person several years ago as well!), so I am thrilled her and her husband announced their first pregnancy!
  • Kelsey Kaplan Fashion - I've followed Kelsey on Instagram for a few years, but just started getting into her actual blog. Her outfits are absolutely STUNNING and so colorful!
  • Katie's Bliss - Katie shared all the details for how she's organizing her new apartment closet, I'm for sure saving this post since I'm moving to a new place in September.

  1. Love this jumpsuit, I would’ve never thought to pair it with cobalt. I love that! Kacey Musgraves was my favorite from the Met Gala too. I will have to try that primer; I am in desperate need of one. Ahh cannot wait to check these blog posts out. Love reading blogs.

  3. Congratulations on getting ahead of your reading schedule! I've also done really well with reading this year. I only read 23 last year, but I've already read 50 this year! I'm sure my momentum will drop down soon though 😅

  4. Another full week for you! You are impressive with the book goals. I don’t think I’ve read more than two books so far this year. I have one sitting on my bedside table, waiting for me. Way to go!

  5. I like seeing the fashions of the Met Gala too, after. I love seeing all the Judith Leiber handbags on the runway. Zendaya's was my favorite. Hawaii shirt on your wish list is super cute.
