Ramblings:
  • Delilah injury update: If you missed it on Instagram Stories, late last Thursday night was one of the scariest nights I've had in a long time! I went to bed at 8:30 as normal for work. At 11pm, my roommate Abigail woke me up, saying that Delilah seemed to have hurt herself and appeared to be in pain. Poor Delilah somehow cut the upper back part of her neck, and it was bleeding! She kept trying to irritate the wound even more with her paws. Abigail helped keep her calm while I called and emergency vet, and I took her in around midnight. Due to COVID I wasn't able to go in with her. It was so scary being in the car by myself at that time of night, waiting to hear how she was! Thankfully the cut wasn't deep enough for stitches, but they did clean it up and give her medicine. I ended up skipping the morning show on Friday since I was up most of the night with the cat. Delilah thankfully is one the mend! She was on painkillers through early this week which made her sleepier than normal and acting a little weird, but she's acting more herself now and the wound is healing. I still don't know what caused it. 😓But hopefully wherever in the apartment or however Delilah hurt herself she won't do again!
  • Solo trip idea: I am thinking about taking my first ever solo weekend trip over Thanksgiving this year! It isn't looking likely that I will go home to Maine for it (Thanks, COVID), and similarly I'm not sure if I feel comfortable spending it indoors with a group of people at a local friend's home. It sounds kind of depressing to spend Thanksgiving cooped up the whole weekend in my apartment, so I'm thinking a solo trip for a couple nights somewhere in driving distance in Virginia could be really fun! I've flown and road tripped by myself many times but I've never actually gone somewhere overnight alone, and it sounds very empowering. If you've done a solo trip, let me know how it was!
  • New song bracket: A fun new song bracket kicked off on my IG Stories this week! We're doing the best of the Backstreet Boys vs. *NSYNC and it's SO fun! I've also made another Spotify playlist for this bracket too.

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: On Friday night I attended a virtual craft class on Zoom held by Kristin- we made the cutest fabric covered pumpkins! I want to do another one. On Saturday I went to an outdoor Jazzercise class and then met my friend Taylor at a couple of my favorite wineries, which was a lovely way to enjoy the fall weather! On Sunday I livestreamed church and then stayed in all day, it so was relaxing. A highlight was reading for awhile on the balcony!

Purchases: No fun purchases this week. With this fall looking so different from years passed it seems smarter to save money for holiday gifts rather than buying lots of new items for myself right now.

Wishlist:
  • A comfy and flowy turtleneck for fall and winter that comes in a ton of colors.
  • While pulling out my fall shoes and accessories, I realized I could be due for a new crossbody bag in fall colors this year. These purses are investment pieces for sure, but would be timeless!
  • Always craving more new denim from a favorite brand for fall.
  • A cute ruffled tank top under $20 that would be easy to layer under a cardigan for fall.
  • This is a chic fall top that will be you cozy and stylish.
Currently reading: Sex and Vanity by Kevin Kwan - The latest novel from the author of the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy! This book and its characters are different yet similar from CRA- if that makes sense? I am about 1/3 of the way through and really enjoying it so far! But I was a huge fan of the CRA trilogy so this has high standards to meet.

Recipe of the week: Brown Butter Cardamom Banana Bread from Milk Street Kitchen - I have found it- this is the ONLY banana bread recipe you will ever need again. This was phenomenal!! I have made my fair share of banana breads and muffins over the years, and never have any tasted this good. The cardamom with the banana is just insanely good.

Song of the week: Shape of My Heart by The Backstreet Boys - I've been listening to all my old boyband favorites getting this week's IG Stories song bracket ready, and it had been too long since I jammed to this one by the Backstreet Boys. Definitely one of my favorite songs of theirs!

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Kevin & Amanda - With staying home this year, I've been enjoying reading travel blog posts more than ever before. This guide to the beautiful and historic city of Hoi An, Vietnam cured my wanderlust this weekend!
  • Sher She Goes - If you've ever wondered about The Drop influencer clothing collections that Amazon does, Sher wrote an excellent FAQ post, and also reviewed some items from the latest Drop.
  • Chronicles of Frivolity - Katey's guide to styling Spanx faux leather leggings came at a perfect time since I just got my first pair a few weeks ago!

On the blog this week:
     God Bless,
