Fall Dress in a Sunflower Field 🌻

No better way to kick off a new week then with a field of sunflowers, right?! 🌻I'll be sharing a full Travel Guide for my recent weekend in Winchester, VA later this week. For now I wanted to give you a little preview in the form of a lot of bold blooms on a cloudy day!

Last year was actually the first time that I got to visit a sunflower field in bloom in the fall! The one I went to last year was in Maryland, about an hour-ish outside of DC, with my friend Mercedes who lives up that way. I wasn't sure with all of the craziness of 2020 if I'd make it to one this year, so I was thrilled when a stop by The Homestead Farm at Fruit Hill Orchard was put on my itinerary for my recent travel blogging press trip with Visit Winchester. In addition to a farm store selling lots of fresh local produce, the Homestead Farm boasts a humungous sunflower field! They all happened to be in full bloom last weekend while I was there.

Sadly it was a bit foggy on the morning that these photos were taken, but honestly I think that makes their beautiful color pop even more! Don't they look so radiant against the clouds? I wore this fall paisley maxi dress that my mom got me for my birthday. This exact dress isn't online- but it does remind me a lot of the brand Free People! Normally I'd pair this dress with heeled booties, but for walking in the damp grass and amongst all the flowers I knew sneakers would be the safer bet. I'm so glad these white sneakers are back in stock this year- both the same pair I have and a new color combo as well! They are such a steal at under $20. (For sizing- I went half a size down.)

I'm looking forward to sharing more of Winchester on the blog later this week- stay tuned! Are there any sunflower fields near where you live or somewhere you've traveled to at this time of year? Share in the comments!

     God Bless,

     xoxo Annaliese
