Ramblings:
  • Making me smile this week: I think we can all agree that the past couple weeks have been rough for everyone, and finding humor and joy in each day seems to be getting tougher. Here's something that's been bringing me a lot of much needed laughs this week: Facebook Memories! I love this feature on Facebook- each morning I look forward to seeing my posts from that day in years past. But lately I've been loving it even more. I've been specifically looking for my posts from freshman and sophomore year of high school...y'all I swear I should not have been allowed to have social media then. I posted so many embarrassing status!! There was one I shared 11 years ago that really made me laugh the other day- I was apparently having a dilemma about what to wear to my church youth group's weekly meeting. 😂Anyways- if you need a laugh this week and also used to post cringeworthy stuff on Facebook back in the day, I highly recommend checking out Memories!
  • To Tik Tok or not to Tik Tok: Speaking of more social media... Tik Tok. What are y'all's thoughts about it? I never got into Vine years ago and honestly I've never been a huge Youtube fan either (reading blogs is more my thing). I didn't really understand Tik Tok when I first heard about it, and assumed it was just something for younger kids. I'm shocked now at how many of my friends and favorite bloggers are on it! I've still resisted getting it... it seems like something that will just take up a ton of my time, and I already spend a good amount of time on my phone. But at the same time, some of the dance challenges do look kind of fun and something to occupy time with right now? Hmmm.
  • Good resource for Virginians: Every state seems to have different rules right now about what people are still allowed to do and what's still open- it's confusing to keep up with! I shared this list of businesses considered essential and non-essential by the state of Virginia on my personal Facebook this week- I think it's very helpful for those of you that live here. Essential encompassed more things than I thought.

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: First weekend where social distancing was majorly in effect! So... I didn't do too much. 😂My main project on Saturday was reorganizing our kitchen pantry. Other things I did over the weekend included a social distancing walk with a friend (walking around a local neighborhood and making sure to stay at least 6 feet apart from each other), live-streaming church and doing some blog work for this week .
  • This weekend: Round two of last weekend? For house projects, I need to organize our hallway coat closet and some stuff in my bedroom next. Also looking forward to more Netflix time and indoor workouts at home/walks outside. I have a feeling the next few weekends will also look very similar! Haha.

Purchases: Last week was a rough one for me... not just with the Coronavirus news but also with something going on in my personal life. Sometimes a girl just needs retail therapy... so I treated myself to two bigger purchases!
  • Finally splurged on these shorts that many bloggers rave about! They're way more than I've ever spent for a pair of shorts... but I figured if I don't like them I can just return them. Hoping I'll get a ton of use out of them though!
  • These classic shoes in the tan color... which I've literally been wanting since college! The great sales last week had me finally pull the trigger.

Wishlist:
  • I hear wonderful things about this pajama brand! I feel like we will be staying indoors a lot more in the weeks to come so really nice pajamas might be my next splurge.
  • A darling spring dress that has been on major sale this week.
  • Lilly released more spring new arrivals this week- and this new print is giving me a major throwback to Lilly for Target!
  • These fun heeled mules for under $25 are an incredible dupe for a $300+ designer version!
  • So many cute and practical spring basics right now from this brand.

Currently reading: Almost Single by Advaita Kala - Almost done with this one from last week. It's a short read but took me awhile to get into- in full honesty I haven't liked this book and probably wouldn't recommend it.

Recipe of the week: Italian Herb Meatballs from The Slow Roasted Italian - The best savory homemade meatballs that are delicious both in pasta dishes, or on their own! So easy to make- these have been one of my all-time favorite recipes for the last few years.

Song of the week: Say So by Doja Cat - This has been stuck in my head all week, but I don't hate it! I feel like this song has such a fun, disco/retro vibe.

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Lizzie in Lace - This might be one of the most beautiful formal dresses that I have ever seen! Lizzie looks stunning in this.
  • Chronicles of Frivolity - Katey shared her current daily makeup routine- her makeup always looks flawless.
  • What Nicole Wore - Loved my friend Nicole's bucket list for quarantine- some of these are goals of mine too (and some made me laugh and smile!).

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

  1. I feel the same way about Tik Tok! I've downloaded it twice and deleted it without even opening it. I think I may just give in and get it to pass the time.

  2. Right there with you, it has been a rough week and a half. I am so mixed on Tik Tok, I like the ones that people have posted on Instagram. I agree, I am more into blogs vs. Youtube. Ahh love those Tory flats you got. So sorry to hear you’re going through a lot personally. Hugs <3
