Ramblings:
- Funniest police report: If you need a midweek laugh- check out this hilarious police report that's going viral on Facebook. I swear I almost peed my pants from laughing when I first read this. Some people.... that's all I have to say!
- Alcohol and socializing: I loved this article that was published last week in the Charlotte Agenda, my favorite news outlet from my former city. It talks about how engrained alcohol is in most adult social activities, and interviews two Charlotte women who are trying to counteract that. I personally am a social drinker (and of course enjoy my Virginia wineries!), but I also enjoy activities with friends that don't involve alcohol, so I thought this was a great read.
- Delilah update: Just have to have a crazy cat mom moment and brag on my sweet Delilah cat for a second! I was out of town for three out of four weekends in February, and when I have been home I've been noticing Delilah has been a lot more sweet and affectionate than normal. She always wants to be near me and it's so cute! I think she missed me. She also did great sleeping on my bed with me during a weeknight earlier this week (in the past she gets rambunctious in the middle of the night so I don't normally have her in my room on weeknights). Excuse the cat mom moment- just love her so much and so thankful for the joy having a pet brings!
Weekend recaps:
- Last weekend: I was in NYC for a girls' trip with Charlottesville friends! We left really early Friday morning, and came back Sunday afternoon. We managed to pack a lot of fun into two days in the city! Planning to share a little more about our wonderful weekend in Friday's blog post.
- This weekend: After two weekends out of town, I'm very excited for a chill weekend at home! This Sunday will also be the first one in a month that I've been able to go to church, and I'm way too excited for that. I do have plans after church to do a winery with friends on Sunday afternoon, but that's all that's on the agenda for now.
Purchases:
- Normally I do quite a bit of shopping when I'm in NYC, but I was very good this time. All I bought was a new pair of Zara skinny jeans- they're my favorite affordable denim!
Wishlist:
- These fun sandals that are included in the Shopbop Sale!
- This spring dress reminds me of the classic looks of a lot of the Gal Meets Glam dresses- but at a cheaper price point.
- Lilly Pulitzer just had to go and add some cute new touches to a shift dress style- just take my money already!
- Smocked tops and square necklines are super trendy for this spring- this top combines both of these things and is under $20.
- I forget whose blog I saw these Valentino dupe sandals featured on- but I loved them! They're so affordable and cute.
Currently reading: American Wife by Curtis Sittenfield - Still working on this book from last week- it's a long one! But still really enjoying it a lot- this might become one of my favorite reads of the year.
Recipe of the week: Savory Pretzels from Palemettos and Pineapples - Fellow blogger Liz shared this recipe on her blog just before the Super Bowl, and I've had it bookmarked to try since then. I finally made these on Sunday evening to have as a snack at work this week- oh my gosh are these tasty! And so easy to make. One twist that I put on them was using spicy ranch instead of regular, since I love crunchy snacks with a little heat in them!
Song of the week: What a Savior by Laura Story - I hadn't heard this beautiful worship song in quite awhile, but it came on the radio as I was flipping through the stations last week, and the lyrics were just what I needed to hear that day.
Favorite blog posts of the week:
- Prep in Your Step - Dorothy shared some fun details about her job as a Magazine Prop Stylist- I love learning about what bloggers do at their day jobs.
- Covering the Bases - This is definitely one of my favorite outfits Krista has ever shared- such a fun and sassy look!
- LCB Style - Caroline shared a full apartment tour of her beautiful former place- her space was so darling and fun! Seriously a dream bachelorette pad.
On the blog this week:

- What I Wore to Work: February 2020

God Bless,

OMG that police report, too funny! That was such a great article on alcohol and society. I too am a social drinker and have learned with pregnancy that I have just as much fun at social events without alcohol. Aww Delilah is the cutest, our kitty has been very affectionate with us being gone a lot too.
ReplyDeleteYou look great Annaliese. Looking forward to your NYC posts.
