Ramblings:
  • Coronavirus with travel: Does anyone else feel like the panic with Coronavirus has really intensified in the last week?! Yikes. I am supposed to be leaving on Monday for an international trip with my dad for his birthday. We aren't going to Europe or anywhere overseas, but with all of the news that has escalated in the last week I'm really nervous. We haven't made any decisions yet about what to do. I'm not so much worried about contracting it in the place we're going to,  but more paranoid to be spending time in three large international airports.
  • Coronavirus interviews: For some different news related to Coronavirus, I've really been enjoying these personal essays that Slate has been publishing for a few weeks. The series is called Coronavirus Diaries, and they're sharing a few personal essays a week from people all over the world who have been impacted by this: everyone from patients in Italy to nurses working the quarantine units in US hospitals. These are really fascinating reads!
  • Best Richmond restaurants: This week I also enjoyed reading this round-up of the best Richmond area restaurants! Y'all know how much I adore day trips and weekend trips down there, and it's been fun to try new restaurants each time I'm in the area. I think I've only eaten at one on this list so I still have a lot to try clearly!

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: Began on Friday evening with my car having to be towed from my Jazzercise class after it wouldn't start! (I picked it up yesterday and the mechanic said nothing was wrong...? Hmm.) Anyways, I had a pretty calm weekend after that happened. I went to another Jazzercise class and ran a few errands Saturday using a car from work, started watching Love is Blind on Netflix, and spent Sunday after church at a winery with a friend.
  • This weekend: A busy one. I have concert tickets for Friday night, Saturday night I have a birthday party, and Sunday I'm sure will be last minute packing for leaving to go on vacation on Monday after work!

Purchases:
  • No big purchases this week- but I did pick up this new drugstore hair product (that I'm liking!) and a bunch of used books for my vacation plans next week.

Wishlist:
  • I used to have a top from this same retailer a few years ago that I loved that reminds me so much of this new one! Mine was purple and this one is green, but the style is the same.
  • Jean from the blog Extra Petite styled this chic green dress on her blog this week- it might be one of my favorite outfits she's ever worn. I'm now crushing on the dress!
  • Some very trendy heeled sandals that come in a few color options.
  • Red and pink is one of my favorite color combos, so this skirt is a yes from me.
  • And speaking of skirts, my favorite denim skirt from last summer is back! Scoop this up if you haven't yet.

Currently reading: The Family Next Door by John Glatt - This book is about the Tuprin family case, which made national headlines in 2018 when parents David and Louise Turpin were arrested on multiple counts of abusing and torturing their 13 children. The case has fascinated me for the last couple years, and this book dives into more of it, including the backstory on the parents' upbringings in West Virginia.

Recipe of the week: Crispy Black Bean and Rice Burritos from Gimme Delicious - I've shared this recipe so many times over the last few years on the blog, but it's still one of my all-time favorites from Pinterest! I made it for dinner again Sunday night and was reminded how easy and tasty it is.

Song of the week: Hot Girl Bummer by blackbear - This song has been out for awhile now, but is currently sitting in the Top 20 and getting a decent amount of radio airplay, and I can't help but turn it up every time I hear it while driving. (The radio edited version that is... not a fan at all of the lyrics in the original version!)

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Whimsy in Her Wardrobe - Jordyn and her husband just welcomed the sweetest baby puppy ever to their family- little Zaza is like 1/4 the size of my cat and I just can't! 😍
  • Lonestar Southern - This all white outfit from Kate is so incredibly chic, and I love the darling colorful headband that is the perfect accessory.
  • Come Home for Comfort - This is a newer blog that I've been following, but I'm loving Whitney's posts about homemaking. She shares a weekly menu plan each Monday and I'm finding inspiration in it for my own meal planning!

On the blog this week:

  2. Your dress is so pretty! Ahh the Corona Virus is getting pretty scary. We were going to do a road trip next weekend to 30A in Destin, but now we're reconsidering.
