Ramblings:
- Computer working again: This is why I took the start of the week off from blog posts! Last Friday, my computer mysteriously stopped working! I had used it at work and it was normal, but then when I got home an hour later, it wouldn't turn on or respond to its charger. I was so nervous, and I didn't have time to fix it before heading to the airport for Nashville. I brought it to a local repair shop on Monday, and they got it working pretty quickly again! Thankfully it wasn't a battery or charger issue. The technician who helped me thinks that since I rarely shut my computer off (sleep mode 24/7), it literally got overworked and needed some time to really chill out. I'm so thankful it wasn't more serious - I'll definitely be fully shutting of my computer from now on so hopefully this wont't happen again!
- Folding sheets with Marie Kondo: I KNOW I'm not the only person who despises folding fitted sheets! This video of Marie Kondo showing her method for folding them popped up on my Facebook feed the other day. I'm definitely going to try this technique next time I have clean sheets to fold!
- Good Cville nail salon: Some of you might remember my updates on Instagram Stories over the past couple months about struggling to find a good nail salon in Charlottesville! I thought I'd found one a couple months ago, but then a male manicurist there made sexually harassing comments to me (which was doubly a shame since he did a great job on my nails!). The good news though is that after trying a few more, I finally found a great salon! For my Cville girls: I've started going to Lee's Nails off of US-29. Their salon is clean and well-maintained, and they do SNS nails better than I've ever had before! I'm getting my nails re-done this week because they're getting very long, but this dip manicure has lasted a full four weeks with no chips. Unreal!
Weekend recaps:
- Last weekend: I was in Nashville with my parents! While I did really enjoy the sights that we got to see while there (it was my first trip), I can say with 100% certainty that I think Nashville is a little bit over-hyped as a travel destination. I'm glad I got to go and see everything- but I'm not really in a rush to go back anytime soon. I'll share more about that when I do a full blog post on Nashville!
- This weekend: Friday night I'm excited to watch the Jane the Virgin season premiere with Leslie! I think it's actually airing live tonight, but will be on too late for me to stay up to watch. For the rest of the weekend- I have zero plans as of now! I'm hoping to go on a hike Saturday as the weather will be very nice here.
Purchases:
- I did some boutique hopping in Nashville last Saturday, and I found the cutest hot pink tank top! This one is really similar.
- I also bought a couple things in yesterday's big J. Crew Factory online sale! Krista from Covering the Bases raves about these sandals- so I finally had to get them for myself in black!
- I also purchased this gorgeous summer dress- I love the green hue I got it in, but it comes in other colors also!
Wishlist:
Recipe of the week: Southwest Chicken Bowls from Southern Living. This is what I made for dinner Monday night, and it was a hit! Very flavorful and easy to make, and it also made great leftovers as well that are perfect for work lunches.
Song of the week: Miss Me More by Kelsea Ballerini. I'm in a country mood this week because #Nashville- and I love that Kelsea will be the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry soon!
Favorite blog posts of the week:
- I almost grabbed my new favorite J. Crew Factory skirt in another color in yesterday's sale!
- THIS green jumpsuit- might just be the most elegant jumpsuit ever!
- This chic button up shirt would look wonderful paired with a midi skirt.
- Katey from Chronicles of Frivolity says these leggings are as good as Lululemon for a fraction of the price!

Favorite blog posts of the week:
- Chronicles of Frivolity - I mentioned this post earlier already, but I loved Katey's reviews of her favorite Amazon purchases!
- Girl Meets Bow - My friend Gentry shared the most adorable sundress outfit, as well as her thoughts on taking a personal finance course!
- Covering the Bases - Krista wrote this post as a "throwback" to old school blogging, back when posts used to be more casual and less staged! Read and you'll see what I mean- I loved it.

ReplyDeleteI'll have to try the southwest chicken bowls, my kind of food. :) That's a bummer Nashville wasn't as great as everyone talks about. I've never been. Looking forward to your post about it.
