Ramblings:
  • Buzzfeed quiz about...cheese: It's pretty well known that cheese is one of my favorite foods (and makes up a majority of my diet, lol). My radio co-host Marc and I did this Buzzfeed quiz together on Monday- too funny! And seriously some hard questions for fellow cheese lovers.
  • Yes to honest conversations: This past week after church, I had the opportunity to open up to a couple of my girlfriends about a faith-related topic that I'd been having some hard thoughts on for the past few weeks. I thought I was the only person who could be feeling that way... it turned out that both my friends had been thinking the same thoughts as well! I feel so much better after that conversation. Isn't it amazing how beautiful it is to find great friendships where you can truly be 100% honest and talk about life's serious things as well as the fun stuff? Kind of a random thing to add to today's blog post- but it is something I'm grateful for this week.
  • New cleaning schedule: Since getting back from NY, I've felt really behind and unmotivated with keeping up with cleaning and housework in my apartment. I'm trying something new starting this week! Instead of making my usual Saturday or Sunday chores to-do list, I made a weekly list, and each weekday after work I have to do one or two chores from it! I'm hoping that by doing smaller chores spread out over weekdays, it'll make bigger weekend chores seem less intimidating, and get me back on the right track with tidying up regularly!

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: On Friday night, I went to dinner with some girlfriends for National Margarita Day! I don't typically drink on Friday nights anymore (I'm exhausted on Fridays since it's my 5th day in a row of getting up early for work), but I still enjoyed tacos and the company of my favorite ladies! On Saturday I went to barre class, did some errands, and started doing a deep spring clean of my bedroom closet. Sunday I went to church, and later in the day I met up with a wine blogger, Sippin' Cville, at a local winery.
  • This weekend: I'll be out of town for two upcoming weekends in March, so this weekend I'm planning to get a bunch of errands done, as well as keep de-cluttering my apartment! Big plans I know. 😂

Purchases: This week I only purchased a couple gift items for some upcoming occasions! I'm waiting to do shopping for myself on some upcoming weekend trips.

Wishlist:
  • The most darling coat for spring that I think I've ever seen!
  • Something that needs serious replacing in my closet are spring cardigans- most of the ones that I have are a few years old and have seen better days. I like how many colors this cardigan comes in!
  • I bought one of these on sale last month- and I'm already so obsessed with mine that I think I need a second, since I use it everyday.
  • I spend many hours each day in front of a computer screen- both for my day job and the blog. I really want to get a pair of blue light glasses- these are at an excellent price point!
  • This is such a cute polka dot jumpsuit- how cute for spring! It's also on sale this week.

Recipe of the week: Brown Butter Blondies with Caramel from Southern Living. I made these for a dinner with friends last week, and then gave the leftovers to coworkers and friends. These are pretty easy to make and very tasty!

Song of the week: break up with your girlfriend, I'm bored by Ariana Grande. A very basic song of the week pick for today- but I know I'm not the only one loving this song! I'm obsessed with the subtle *NSYNC sampling- this song sounds like an early 2000s masterpiece.

Favorite blog posts of the week:

  • A Mix of Min - Mindy shared three easy hairstyles to wear to work! It's so easy to get into boring hair ruts on weekdays, so I really enjoyed this post.
  • Stephanie Drenka - Stephanie and her husband just went to Mexico City for their anniversary trip, and I loved reading about the restaurants they went to on their trip.
  • Bess Harrington Carter - Bess shared her best tips for healthy grocery shopping- which I found useful since I've been trying not to eat sugar on weekdays anymore!

     God Bless,

     xoxo Annaliese

  1. I have been slacking on the house chores too, except for taking out the garbage when necessary. (It helps to take out the garbage after the mailman drops mail in the mailbox.) I have to do dishes today though because we are out of plates. I have been decluttering my winter clothes for months now. I am ready for spring so I can start going through those.

  2. I started using the Clean Mama routine for cleaning (except daily laundry as a single I do my laundry all on Saturday "sheets and towels" day). It breaks down 5 daily tasks and then one other thing for cleaning like Monday-bathroom Tuesday-dusting Wednesday-vacuum, etc.
A swell is on my to purchase list for March.

  5. I've been playing Ariana's new album nonstop! It's got so many great songs on it, with a mixture of typical pop songs and slower, more deep songs as well. She's killing it!

  7. I don't hear the whole *NSYNC sampling in Ariana Grande's newest song. But maybe my head goes to "Bye Bye Bye" when someone says *NSYNC.

  8. Loving that stripped skirt! Perfect for spring. I saw a video about Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper set to that Ariana song and I literally LOLd.

  9. I love this so much! It is so fun to see a glimpse into your week. Cheese is one of my fav foods too. That is so nice to find a friendship. You can be 100% honest with. I am also hoping to start a new cleaning schedule when our home is fixed. It’s been on my list for a while. I came up with a daily schedule and everything. I am going to wait to implement it though.
