Ramblings:
  • New church home: So excited to share that I have found a church home here in Charlottesville! Searching for one didn't take as long as I thought it would this time around. So far I absolutely love this church- possibly more than any of the others that I've attended in past years! There is a large community of 20 somethings in the church, and I've already been invited to several events and have been getting to know people outside of Sunday services. Everyone is just so welcoming and kind, and have already made me feel very included as a newcomer! Looking forward to sharing more about this in months to come.
  • Financial Diet videos: I've never been a big Youtube person, but I recently read about a channel that piqued my interest. I first heard about The Financial Diet Youtube channel from Deborah (Coffee Prose and Pretty Clothes), and it sounded like interested videos so I checked it out! Their videos are usually under 10 minutes so I've tried watching a few of them as I get ready in the mornings for work. They are so interesting and most of them offer really relatable financial advice for millennials! You can check out this channel here
  • Baby pigeons: If you follow me on Instagram Stories or are my Facebook friend, you know that I've been obsessed with a mama pigeon who has made her nest on my apartment balcony! This past weekend, one of the babies finally hatched! As of the time I'm writing this post, the other is still taking its sweet time and is still in the egg. I've named the mom pigeon April (after April the Giraffe that went viral from last year), and April has spent a lot of time sitting on top of the baby that has hatched- which makes me sad since I can't see it that well, haha! I'm excited to keep following the little birds as they grow bigger!
  • Charlottesville life: Y'all... life is seriously SO GOOD here in Charlottesville. I decided to postpone my spring book reviews blog post for another week so that later this week instead I can share a big life update all about how things have been since the move to Virginia! All I'll say for now is that God has blessed me overwhelmingly since coming here, and I'm not sure if there's ever been a time in my life when I was this happy and content. 😊

Purchases:
  • Shorts!! We had three 90 degree days in Charlottesville last week, which was a pleasant reminder that I needed to order some new shorts for hot weather ahead. The first pair that I purchased was actually a re-purchase! I had these shorts in black a couple years ago and accidentally shrunk them in the dryer, so I re-bought them in the next size up. So glad they were still in stock as I loved them!
  • I also purchased these adorable scalloped shorts, which I thought were so preppy and chic for summer. At the station I work for, we have staff polo shirts to wear for our community events, and I thought these shorts would coordinate well with my station shirt for work events!

Wishlist:
  • Such a random wishlist item, but I really want the Virginia Atlas and Gazeteer! Delorme, the atlas company, is actually based in my home state of Maine and I've visited their factory store a few times. I am kind of a maps nerd and I own the Maine and North Carolina atlases- they're really fun to have around the house and a great thing to read to learn more about your state of residence and the geography there! I really don't know Virginia that well yet so I'd like to order this soon.
  • A pretty sunny yellow dress!! It's very affordable, and I would totally wear this to work on hot summer days.
  • This is one of the most darling crop tops I've ever seen! And it comes in a few colors, too.
  • I love this beautiful lilac color in these spring heels. What pretty shoes to wear to this season's festivities like graduations, showers, and spring parties!
  • I am really into the fun pattern on this jumpsuit- you could wear it for casual summer outings and also dress it up for evenings.

Recipe of the week: Salsa Verde Chicken Pasta from Kevin and Amanda. This was a fun and spicy take on mac n cheese! I will definitely be making this again. My only note is that I think I overcooked the chicken that I put in so that was a little dry- next time I make this I might just make it as pasta and omit the chicken since the pasta and sauce itself is so good!

Song of the week: Done for Me by Charlie Puth ft. Khelani. I have a love/hate relationship with Charlie Puth's music. I absolutely adore some of his songs, and can't get into other ones. This new song with Kehlani I'm really liking though- I wouldn't have pictured these two artists together, but it totally works.

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

  9. Good for you to find a church...
it was one of the hardest choices we made when

    so many things to consider.
And I really love your outfit

  11. That is awesome you already found a new church home - congrats!! I feel like it has taken us SO long to find one that really fits us. We go to this one in downtown Atlanta occasionally, but it takes about 30-45 minutes to just get there, which really takes a huge chunk of our day, so we are looking for something closer. I'm so happy for you!
