Ramblings:
- Computer-free weekends: One thing that I've been trying to do more of since I moved to Virginia is have computer-free weekends, or be on the computer as little as possible! For lent this year I did 24 hours of no-Instagram from Saturday night to Sunday night, so I guess this is kind of like a continuation of that in a way. I spend so much time on the computer on weekdays for both my day job and blog, and it's been nice to have the weekends (or at the very least, Sundays) to give my eyes a break from the screen, and focus on real life. This Sunday I didn't turn on my computer once, and I was able to be so productive!
- Crazy Rich Asians: The trailer for this movie came out and I am SO excited!!! Watch it now if you haven't seen it yet. I am not normally a stickler for reading books before the movies come out, but since I enjoyed this movie trailer so much I decided to take out the book from the library this week. Y'all- I read it in 24 hours! I have the next two books in the trilogy on hold now, and I already want to reread the first books again. I'll include a more detailed review of it in my next book reviews blog post- but my brief advice now is read this ASAP!! This is going to be such a good movie too, I can't wait!
- The return of Post-Move Updates? Some of the most popular posts on my blog while I lived in Vermont were my Post-Move Updates, which I wrote every two months. They were longer posts that got a little bit more personal that Midweek Ramblings, and shared life updates that I might not include in regular blog posts or on social media. I'm thinking about continuing those for life here in Virginia- would y'all like to see that? I think a name change is in order though. I don't see myself leaving Virginia anytime soon... so I'm thinking of changing the name to something about Tea Dates or Latte Dates. Since these blog posts are more personal, I think of them as me on a coffee or tea date which you individually and catching you up about my life!
Purchases:
- I finally bit the bullet and bought a pair of the ultimate summer shoes that every blogger seems to have! I gotta be honest, I'm not so crazy about them in suede (which is the traditional style)- and that's why I never bought myself a pair last year. However, browsing at shoes online last week, I found the same style of shoe but in metallic instead of suede. Now that was pretty cute!! I really like them so far.
- I also purchased my mom's Mother's Day gift this week. That I'm not going to link since my mom reads every blog post I write. 😊 But yay for being on top of holiday!
Wishlist:
- One piece bathing suits can still be sexy! This one definitely is- and it's at a great price point and comes in three colors.
- The Macy's Friends and Family Sale is on through the end of the week! Loving these summer heels which are on sale, and they come in some great color options as well!
- Do I need another pair of earrings? Definitely not. But am I seriously craving these gorgeous statement earrings? OH YES!
- This printed one-shoulder dress would be really cute for summer vacations or a nice evening out, and this week it's on sale.
- The pattern on this fitted shirt would make workweek outfits fun for the office!
Recipe of the week: No-Bake Energy Bites from Pinterest. Usually I cook most of my meals at the start of the week and then eat leftovers later in the week- this week with my schedule that happened to be reversed! One thing I did make over the weekend though was these No-Bake Energy Bites to take with me as a work snack this week. I love the combo of peanut butter and coconut in them!
Song of the week: Believe (Take 3 Version) by Star Cast. One show that I watch religiously every week is Star- I've been watching since the first episode premiered on Fox last year. One of my favorite things about the show is the original music- all of the cast members are so talented musically! This song, Believe, from a recent episode, was released in two different versions. I prefer the Take 3 version (Take 3 is the name of the girl band that has three of the main characters on Star in it)- this song is so good and I guarantee you'll have it on repeat this week!
On the blog this week:
- Shop Your Closet for Wedding Season: Part 3 - Weddings
- What to Wear to a Baseball Game.
- Grocery Store Wars: Wegmans
Thanks as always for reading- I hope you're having a great week! It is getting really hot here in Virginia today- like almost 90 degrees hot! The warm weather sticks around through Friday- I'm loving it of course.
God Bless,
xoxo Annaliese
I shut my computer down at the end of the workday on Friday and typically don't boot it back up until Monday morning, and I love it! It's such a nice break from staring at a screen all day. Now if only I could do the same thing with my phone!
ReplyDeleteI bought a nearly-identical pair of those sandals from Target and I LOVED them, but the 4 inch heels were not kind to me! Being 5'7", they made me look freakishly tall! Any suggestions on where to find a similar pair with a shorter heel?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see you styling those new pair of shoes! I don't haven wedges like those, too high for me, but I see a lot of girls styling them so well!

I love computer free weekends! And I'm so excited to see crazy rich asians!! Also want to try that recipe now!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about Crazy Rich Asians! Not gonna lie, I could only read the first book in the trilogy because it stressed me out so much - the cattiness was a lot for me and I had to take chamomile tea breaks to calm down haha. I do want to see the movie though - looks so good!
