March Beauty Favorites!

I was so busy at the end of February that I forgot to do a February beauty favorites post, so this month's is loaded with lots of products!! I had bought a bunch of new drugstore make-up to take on my trip to the Dominican Republic, and I'm pleased to report that some of these items have become favorites!      Maybelline Color Show The Nudes Nail Polish in Bare Beige (Drugstores, Ulta $3.99)

Maybelline recently came out with a whole bunch of new make-up that fell under "The Nudes" collection. Some of the items, like the lipsticks, are permament additions to Maybelline's line. Other items like The Nudes Color Show nail polishes are limited edition. I first saw this polish on display at CVS back in February, and I decided to get it. This was my first nude nail polish, and I have liked it more then I thought! I was very impressed with how little chipping there was with it; I put a top coat on it right after I painted my nails, and they lasted about a week without any major chips! That's a good amount of time for a drugstore polish. I also loved how wearing a color like this matched everything, but looked more put together then not wearing any polish. I would say that if you've been searching for a good nude polish then head out and grab one of these limited edition Color Show polishes before they disapear!

Physicians Formula Super BB Cream in Light (Drugstores, Ulta, $14.95)

I had never tried a BB cream before purchasing this on from Physicians Formula. One of the main characteristics of BB creams is that they usually have some SPF in them. This one had SPF 30 which is the main reason I was attracted to it! I knew that for the Dominican Republic I wanted to make sure that I had sun protection on my face at all times, so I wanted some facial make-up that had SPF in it. I was extremely impressed with this product!! It definitely provides a lighter coverage, so I wouldn't recommend it if you prefer for your foundations or facial cremes to be thick and fully covering. But personally I prefer lighter coverage foundations and facial cremes! I have always been lucky to have clear skin and few problems with acne, so I honestly don't like or need a lot of product on my facial skin. So this product is perfect for me! The light shade looked very nice on me, and I love how it has SPF in it. Perfect for spring and summer, or travel to warm weather destinations! I will probably be repurchasing this when I run out.

Essence Long-Lasting Eye Pencil in Tu-Tu-Turquoise (Ulta, $2.49)

Essence is quickly becoming one of my favorite drugstore brands! Essence products are currently only sold at Ulta, so this is one of the things that keeps me going back to Ulta quite frequently. This eyeliner comes out as the prettiest blue. It is very pigmented, and also long-wearing! It was the perfect color blue to bring to the Dominican Republic. I actually wore this eyeliner in this OOTD post from the trip! This would be a great eyeliner if you're looking to add a pop to neutral colored shadows, and plus I think this color is just so pretty for the warmer seasons!

What new make-up products have you been loving lately?

  1. I love nude polishes! You're right -- they add a polished look and match any and everything you could imagine wearing. Lately, I have been loving my Wet n Wild Mega Eyes Defining Marker. Definitely the best eyeliner marker that I have ever used, and probably the cheapest one, as well! I would love to try a violet color in the Essence eyeliner. I will have to check next time that I'm at ULTA :)
