Blogger Nicole from Keeping You Stylish has quickly become one of my new favorite fashion bloggers! I love her fun and bright style, and like me she enjoys putting together outfits that are affordable and yet still chic! I've been wanting to collaborate with Nicole for awhile, and we were finally able to do something together. The theme of our collaboration is crop tops! This post is how I chose to style my crop top.

Usually when I wear crop tops I only do so at the beach or pool because they are a bit more exposing, but I wanted to find a way to wear them so they would be appropriate for a school day! I was so excited once I was able to put this outfit together. This skirt is a bit high waisted so it took care of the stomach issue, and the colors seemed to match perfectly! I decided to go for a few accessories that added big pops of color.

Fun story behind this crop top- it wasn't bought in any stores... it was made by my mom! My mom used to be really into sewing back in the 90s when I was little. She actually made most of my baby clothes!! The funny thing is that she had actually made this crop top for herself, and a couple years ago passed it onto me (even though she could still fit into it- my mama is in amazing shape!). I took a couple of sewing classes when I was in middle school, but I don't remember many of the skills that I'd learned. Sewing is something that I'd love to get back into!! I think it would be so fun to be able to make some of my own fashions to be able to model here on my blog. ;-)

  1. What a cute look! I have been wanting to try out the crop top trend, but I'm so skittish about it and whether I could pull it off in an appropriate way. You pull it off amazingly :)

  3. That's such a great way to wear a crop top! I had the same concerns as Seersucker Sass, I was concerned about staying covered up. Great inspiration and great post!
