Ramblings:
  • Uglies movie: This news made my inner 12 year old scream! Were any of you also fans of the dystopian book series Uglies by Scott Westerfeld? The first book got a movie deal! I was obsessed with these books in middle school, so much so that myself and a couple friends dressed up as book characters from the second book, Pretties, for a costume contest in our church youth group once, ha! I will definitely be watching this when it comes out.
  • 2016 funny debate video: I don't like to get very political on the blog, but I do hope this video gives you a needed laugh this week like it did for me! Do you remember the viral video in 2016 where someone edited Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton to look like they were lip synching at the debate to the song I've Had the Time of My Life? I had kinda forgotten about it, but stumbled up on it this week and oh my gosh, it made me laugh harder now than it ever did in 2016. Is it bad to wish I hope someone makes similar video for the Biden/Trump debates this year?

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: I had the most wonderful time in the cute town of Winchester, VA! I was there working on a travel collaboration with their tourism board. My good friend Perrin came up from Charlotte as my guest! I can't wait to share a full Travel Guide for this area on the blog soon.
  • This weekend: No big plans, but since I was out of town last weekend I'd like to use part of this weekend to work ahead on blog stuff, and also catch up on reading! I have a few library books calling my name.

Purchases:

Wishlist:
  • The quilted hot pink coat of my dreams.
  • Hot pink, leopard and shimmer come together in the most lovely wrap dress!
  • I have a few pair of sneakers already, but these neon running shoes make me want to take up running again just so I have a reason to justify getting them- ha!
  • I feel like this colorful sweater would be so cute with leggings and furry boots for a ski weekend look in the winter.
  • An elegant and retro under $30 fall dress.

Currently reading: The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory - Ah still finishing this one! It's a fun and lighthearted romance read, I just have had little time the past two weeks for reading. Hopefully that'll change in October!

Recipe of the week: Frank's Red Hot Crispy Chicken from Hello Fresh - I liked this Hello Fresh recipe so much that I bought the ingredients myself to make it again for dinner last night! It's one of the tastiest chicken recipes I've ever made myself, and easy!

Song of the week: Diamonds by Sam Smith - WOW absolutely loving this new song from Sam Smith!! It reminds me musically of another new song I'm loving, Midnight Sky by Miley Cyrus.

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Style Inherited - Before reading this post I wasn't familiar with the Thousand Islands region of Upstate NY, but after seeing these gorgeous pictures now I want to visit!
  • Coming Up Roses - If you follow a lot of beauty bloggers, chances are you've heard about the cult favorite Tula eye balms by now! This review of all three from Erica was great.
  • Heather Bien - Heather and her husband did a cross-country road trip across the Southeast last month! It's my dream to do a big Southern road trip someday, so I loved this post.

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

     xoxo Annaliese
