Ramblings:
  • Southern Belle in Training Facebook Group: Ladies- you're all welcome to come and join! I started a private Facebook group for my blog this week, and it's already so much fun. It's open to any female readers of my blog. It'll be a place to foster connections (a lot of SBIT readers live in the same cities!), discuss some blog post topics more in depth, and just have fun! I'd love to have you apart.
  • Sweet Magnolias Finale: I finally finished the most amazing Netflix show yet- Sweet Magnolias! Can we talk about that ending?! Oh my word. I'm honestly not sure that I've ever loved a first season of a show so much, I would say my love of Hart of Dixie comes close (and that's probably the most similar show there is to Sweet Magnolias!). It hasn't officially been renewed for another season just yet, but this article seems to think that'll happen soon.

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: Started with a fun s'mores and wine girls' night at a friend's house! The rest of the weekend was pretty quiet. Sunday my roommate and I had tried to organize a floating trip on the local river with our friends, but there was a threat of thunderstorms so we cancelled that morning. I ended up running some local errands instead.
  • This weekend: I'm headed out of town for the holiday weekend! My friend Mercedes lives in the DC area, and we are both driving to meet somewhere that's the same distance for both of us to enjoy the 4th of July. Our AirBnb looks super cute. I've never been to the place we are visiting but it looks beautiful and I can't wait!

Purchases:
  • The main thing I've really been wanting to buy lately is more athletic clothes, specifically more tennis outfits! This cute (and on sale) skort is supposed to arrive to me tomorrow and I can't wait.
  • I also can't wait to this new workout top to arrive!
  • While at the mall this weekend, I found an amazing clearance find: the cutest holiday plaid skirt for under $20!
  • I also grabbed this practical t-shirt in my favorite hot pink hue (it's much brighter than it looks here!)
  • I also got this top that I wanted to love so badly, but had to return. On me, the chest part was too small and the stomach part was huge. But maybe it would work for someone else- it's adorable!
Wishlist:
  • This tennis skort is so cute! I'm thinking of doing a review of different athletic skorts under $30 from Amazon and figuring out which I like best? Let me know if you'd be interested in that.
  • The cutest hot pink pullover that's currently under $20.
  • This Lilly dress is such a unique and timeless style- not trendy in the slightest.
  • All things Gal Meets Glam are starting to go on major markdown since Julia announced the ending of the clothing line. This jumpsuit would be so chic for a nice event (whenever it's safe to have those again!).
  • I'm in need of a new eye cream or serum, and so many bloggers have raved about this one.

Currently reading: Who Am I If You're Not You? by Lynn Thorne  - not the usual subject matter that I read nonfiction about, haha! This book is a true story.... that of my radio co-host Marc and his wife. Working closely with Marc I know most of the story from him personally, but I'd still been wanting to read this when I found out a book was written about him and his wife, and I'm finally doing that. It's a short but very insightful read!

Recipe of the week: Garlic-Ginger Chicken with Cilantro and Mint from Indian-ish - Finally getting around to trying this cookbook that I got for Christmas. I made this chicken recipe for dinner a few nights ago and it was good! I had to use dried mint instead of fresh (I forgot it at the store) but I bet it would be even better made with fresh mint like the recipe calls for.

Song of the week: If We Have Each Other by Alec Benjamin - I've loved some of Alec's other music for awhile and I'm glad to see him finally gaining some popularity! This is his newest song and the message of it is so sweet.

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Girl Meets Bow - Gentry shared all of the precious details of her small wedding day back in May (their large one has been postponed for COVID!). Her day looked SO beautiful and intimate- I'm so glad she and Rob can still call May their anniversary month!
  • Carolina Charm - Christina is one of my go-to's for Amazon recommendations, and I love that she rounded up all her latest ones into this big post.
  • Southern Curls and Pearls - Caitlin did a weekend in Wilmington, NC recently and stayed in the most darling AirBNB. Wilmington is high on my southern travel list!

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

     xoxo Annaliese
