Ramblings:
- Kobe Bryant: What a horrible, horrible start to the week in the news. 😥 I have to be fully honest and tell y'all that I know next to nothing about NBA basketball (before Kobe's passing I didn't even know which team he had played for), so I definitely wasn't a huge fan or anything. Despite all that- I've been so sad over the news of his helicopter crash! I can't believe that his daughter and two other girls her age passed away as well. Absolutely devastating. I can't even imagine how hard the news has been for those that were fans of his for years. Here's a round-up of some of the best tributes from different talk shows on Monday of this week.
- Cheer memes: Now let's talk about a few lighter things! I shared in last Wednesday's post how much I had been enjoying watching Cheer on Netflix. A friend of mine who has also been watching the show sent me this hilarious Buzzfeed article which rounds up the best memes about the show. I was dying reading it- so funny and accurate!
- Funny yearbook quotes: The other super funny thing I saw on the internet this week was this roundup of the wittiest senior yearbook quotes from high school seniors. I couldn't stop laughing looking at these- and it made me really regret the fact I didn't do a witty quote for my own.
Weekend recaps:
- Last weekend: A fun one! I went out to dinner downtown for Restaurant Week with some girlfriends, which was a great way to kick off the weekend. I was in Richmond on Saturday to get my hair done, and had lunch down there after. On Sunday afternoon I performed at the UVA Women's Basketball Game half-time show with my Jazzercise studio- there were about 30 students and instructors that participated which was fun!
- This weekend: My last chill weekend for awhile! I'll be out of town three out of four weekends in February, and I'll have company visiting the only weekend I'm in town. So this will be the last weekend in awhile for me to really relax! Not much on the agenda as of now other than hoping to go to a winery at some point.
Purchases: Only purchase this week was getting my hair done- which is a bigger purchase ha! 😉
Wishlist:
- How darling is this lemon print bathing suit? It's under $25 and I also love the flamingo print it comes in.
- I love a good designer dupe! These pearl Gucci style earrings are under $20 and so fun.
- The prettiest blue gingham shirt that you could wear now and into spring!
- This spring dress is so ladylike and cute! It would make an adorable Easter dress also
- This cute little necklace comes in a variety of pretty colors and would be darling for Valentines or Galentines.
Currently reading: Spoken From the Heart by Laura Bush I finally finished this yesterday! It took me a full month to get through this book- I really enjoyed it, I just didn't have a ton of time to read this month. Planning to head to the library to find something new soon!
Recipe of the week: Strawberry and Cream Cheese Muffins from Mom on Timeout. - I made these Monday night for breakfasts this week- I had some cream cheese left in my fridge and wanted to use it up. All I can say is YUM!! They're absolutely delicious- I already know I'll be making them again soon.
Song of the week: Roxanne by Arizona Zervas - This song gained its fame from TikTok, which makes me feel really old writing that haha. But it's become one of my favorite carpool songs to blast to and from work lately.

I am so sad about Kobe Bryant’s death. I was at the gym when I saw it on the tv and had to Google it because I couldn’t believe it. SO sad! I finally watched Cheer and binged the whole documentary, so good. I will have to check these memes out. I’ve been following Brighton’s wedding too, it looked gorgeous.
