Ramblings:
  • Living in a hotel resort: Did anyone else love the show The Suite Life of Zach and Cody while growing up? I always enjoyed it, and I used to think it would be so cool to live in a hotel like they did. Well- one adult couple kinda made that happen in real life! Two travel hacking pros spent 29 days at an all inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic (you can stay 30 days there sans visa), and they recapped everything in this cool article. This is a fun read if you also love travel!
  • ADPi Bid Day: I had a lot of fun this past Sunday getting to help at my first sorority Bid Day since my own experiences in undergrad! I'm an Alpha Delta Pi alum, and in November I became an advisor with a chapter here in Virginia. I honestly haven't done very much with ADPi at all sadly since graduating in 2016- starting my career and working on growing my blog were my main priorities for awhile. But in 2019 I was finally in a more settled place and able to add more frequent volunteer work into my schedule again! Anyways- it was both a lot of fun and a lot of work to be on the other side of Bid Day. I got a little emotional seeing all of the excited new sorority members being welcomed home! I obviously haven't been advising very long yet, but I'm excited for all to come in 2020.

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: I caught up with my friend Leslie for breakfast on Saturday, then went to two workout classes after. Saturday night I went to dinner downtown at a great new-to-me restaurant with friends- I had a friend in town who had moved away last year. Sunday I went to church and then spent the whole day volunteering at Bid Day for Alpha Delta Pi!
  • This weekend: My friend Perrin was supposed to be coming up to visit, but it's now looking very likely that Charlottesville will have snow and freezing rain all day Saturday, so we are going to postpone that weekend for another time. I do have a fun semi-formal event to go to with my roommate on Friday night, but I'm assuming the rest of the weekend I'll be staying indoors with the snow, since I'm not a fan of driving in it in Charlottesville.

Purchases:

Wishlist:
  • Why does Lilly Pulitzer always release the best new arrivals right after we've all spent a ton of money in the After Party Sale? Haha!! Anyway, loving these shorts in the print Pink Blossom Seeing Spots!
  • Loving this classy yet stylish one-piece swimsuit. The palm print is my favorite!
  • Totally not the right season for this yet- but if you have a spring break trip somewhere warm you'll love this darling embroidered dress
  • An elegant printed blouse that you'll be able to easily transition from winter to spring.
  • This bold top in red looks perfect for Valentine's Day.

Currently reading: Didn't have a ton of reading time this past week, so still making my way through Never Go Back by Dr. Henry Cloud and Spoken From the Heart by Laura Bush.

Recipe of the week: Black Pepper Biscuits from Callie's Biscuits and Southern Traditions cookbook - This recipe comes from one of the cookbooks I got for Christmas, and I made my first recipe from it for Dinner Club last Wednesday. These biscuits were a huge hit with my friends!

Song of the week: Vulnerable by Selena Gomez - This week blessed us with a new Selena Gomez album! I'm a huge fan of hers, but surprisingly I didn't love every song on the album as much as I thought I would. With that said- I am absolutely obsessed with the new song Vulnerable. I really hope it's her next radio hit!

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Annie Wears It - Annie is a native midwesterner and shared her picks for the best destinations, large and small, to visit in this region of the US!
  • Louella Reese - Laura shared why she chooses to make Blessing Bags for those in need in her community, and shares a helpful list of things to include in them for if you should choose to make them too! I love it when bloggers use their platforms for good.
  • Kristen Woolsey - This blog post has a total click bait title, but it took an amazing turn I wasn't expecting! So glad Kristen shared this story on her blog.

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

     xoxo Annaliese

  1. I LOVE The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, and have been watching it on Disney Plus! Also, those pink “Seeing Spots” shorts are on my Lilly wish list, but definitely waiting until they go on sale!

  2. I love Suite Life of Zack and Cody growing up. I cannot wait to check this article out. That’s so neat you’re an advisor for your sorority. I want to get involved in an alumni group for mine. Stay warm this weekend!

  3. Oh my gosh, thank you so much for sharing my post Annaliese! Sorry for the clickbait, but it was true.
I can't wait to read about living in an all-inclusive for the month. It sounds amazing, but I think I'd get sick of it real quick.
