You Need This Chinoiserie Dress!

Ever since I got this dress in the mail a few weeks ago, I have been dying to share it with y'all on the blog! The price point on it is amazing, and I am obsessed with the print of the fabric. Blue and white always makes for a classic outfit!

First we need to talk about this dress! When I shared a preview of these photos on Instagram last week, I got some messages thinking that it was a romper. Nope- it is a dress, albeit a short one haha! I will be honest- I don't normally wear dresses this short anymore, especially ones that are short and flowy. This is definitely shorter than something I would wear to work! But I had to make an exception and still get it when I saw the gorgeous print of it. This dress is super lightweight and would probably be more ideal for spring/summer or early fall than November. But it was just so cute that I couldn't have it sitting in my closet all winter to wait to show it to you! 😊Even though it is light fabric, it isn't see-through at all which is a true win-win! The only thing to worry about is the short length, but if you aren't doing something super active while wearing it I think it would be fine. I'm wearing my normal Shein size Medium and it fit perfectly.

The dress style itself is great, but like I said what absolutely sold me on it was the darling print of the fabric. It's Chinoiserie! If you're not familiar with what Chinoiserie is, it originated in the 17th century in Europe, and the classic prints are European adaptation of Chinese culture at the time. Chinoiserie is more frequently found in home goods- such as wallpaper, dish sets, vases, etc. It has timeless appeal and makes for beautiful decor. It's not as often that you see this in clothing, which is another reason I immediately wanted this dress!

In the past, I never trusted getting jewelry from Shein, but I've tried out a few pairs of their earrings in recent months. I am surprisingly a HUGE fan! I thought any jewelry under $5 was going to be pretty hit or miss, but I'm pleased to report only good things. The heart earrings I'm wearing today retail for just $2, and they're so cute! My favorite thing about Shein earrings has actually been how lightweight they are. All the pairs I own are so light and easy on the ear to wear- unlike statement earrings from retailers like Baublebar that I feel can hurt my ears.

Today's photos were taken by the one and only Deeana! I stopped briefly to see her for a quick shoot while I was en route to visit my friend Liane in North Carolina last week. Deeana and I always used to shoot near Uptown Charlotte when I lived there, but I didn't want to drive all the way into the city last week. We met in downtown Concord, which is such a cute area! I can't wait to share the rest of our photos soon.

     God Bless,

     xoxo Annaliese

  1. This outfit is GORGEOUS! It reminds me of my Ralph Lauren China which I am obsessed with. I always love anything blue and white. I always forget about Shein's jewelry, I need to check it out now.
