Ramblings:
- How to decline a wedding invite: I loved this etiquette article that I came across this week from The New York Times! Declining an invitation to a wedding (or to be in a bridal party) isn't an ideal situation, but it is one that happens from time to time for various circumstances. I thought this article was fantastic, and I'm bookmarking it in case I ever have to use it in the future.
- Favorite video of the week: Loved this fun video from the Jimmy Fallon Show featuring Jennifer Lopez! JLo and Jimmy break down the evolution of music video dancing styles, and it's pretty great. They definitely did a lot of these videos justice!
- Sorority advisor: So excited this is finally official! I'm going to be starting volunteering as an advisor for the local Alpha Delta Pi chapter at UVA in Charlottesville. I haven't done very much with my sorority since I graduated in 2016, and it's been a goal of mine to get back involved as an alum. The timing seems perfect, and I'm so excited for this new role!
Weekend recaps:
- Last weekend: An unexpectedly wonderful weekend! It involved a new-to-me winery, great company, and some awesome memories made. 😊I also had a work event for a few hours on Saturday, and went to church with some friends on Sunday.
- This weekend: A busy one but it should be fun! Saturday I am going with a new friend from church to a really fun event at a farm that I can't wait to tell y'all about! Saturday night my roommate and I are hoping to start on Christmas decorating in our apartment- eeek!! And Sunday should be fun as well- I have my first ADPi advisor event in the morning, and then will be going to one of my favorite wineries with friends later in the day!
Purchases: Still no purchases for myself this week since Black Friday is approaching! I did get a head start on Christmas shopping this week though which I'm proud of.
Wishlist:
- This darling skirt is everything my Christmas dreams are made of- WANT!
- One more practical purchase that I'm hoping to find on Black Friday are a pair or two of these pumps- my heel collection could use some new black or nude pumps. I have tried these on before and know they're great- just hoping they'll be marked down soon.
- The most gorgeous and classy pink pants that are also work appropriate- what a win!
- I can't remember if I shared this sequin dress in a past wishlist or not but I'm still crushing on it! Not sure what my NYE plans will be yet for 2020 but it definitely seems like a good option to keep in mind!
- Kendra Scott always kills it with their holiday jewelry collections. These statement earrings are a bit out of my price range at the moment, but they are stunning and I'm dreaming about them!
Currently reading: Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts. Still working on this book from last week, but still enjoying it! I'm getting really curious now to see the movie made about it.
Recipe of the week: Easy Maple Sesame Salmon from Sally's Baking Addiction. I love salmon but I don't cook it often for myself. This recipe was super easy for a weeknight dinner!
Song of the week: Don't Start Now by Dua Lipa. Oh my gosh- this is officially my favorite Dua Lipa song ever!! I am obsessed- it's been on repeat for me all week and I start dancing in the car when it comes on the radio!
Favorite blog posts of the week:
- Dress Up Buttercup - Dede shared this handy guide for all the ways you can style a flannel shirt for fall/winter. I want to try some of the more dressy ideas she shared!
- Prep in Your Step - Dorothy shared a detailed round-up of the best holiday formal dresses. Sadly as of now I have no super formal events on the calendar for the next month, but if I did I'd probably buy one of these!
- Orange to Apple - Katie shared a beautiful outfit that's perfect if you have formal Thanksgiving plans next week.
On the blog this week:
God Bless,
xoxo Annaliese
Love this outfit, so perfect for a visit to the winery! Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned! I can't believe it's time for Christmas decorating! I'll wait just another week to start but might decorate my porch this weekend as my fall flowers are dead.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the farm and decorating the apartment.

OMG congrats on being a sorority advisor, how neat! I miss my sorority days. I really need to get my Christmas shopping done, I think I will do that Black Friday. Also, that bow skirt is fabulous! I need it. I am going to try this salmon recipe. We love salmon.
ReplyDeleteYou would look great in this sequin dress!
