As much as I adore my Lilly shifts and dressier pieces, it's often my casual day dresses that I reach for and wear the most frequently in the summer. The casual Lilly styles are easily machine washable, and the perfect thing to throw on for everything from work (if your office dress code is more casual) to church to weekend plans! The dress I'm wearing here is my first in the Margot style, and I love it! An important note on sizing is that this dress does run very big- I'm normally a S in Lilly Pulitzer pieces, but I wear an XS in this Margot dress and it fits perfectly.
Fun story about how I came to acquire this dress! I first saw it while shopping in-store at the After Party Sale last September. I loved this dress and even included a photo of it in my dressing room try-on post recapping the sale! But I ended up finding other items that I wanted more, so I put this dress back. I started regretting leaving it behind pretty much as soon as I got home from shopping that day. I figured the best I could do now was just cross my fingers that Lilly would bring it back in a new print for 2019 (which they did do!), but I really liked it in the print that was in that APS.
When I was home in Maine for Christmas last December, I stopped by Pink Tangerine, which is the Lilly signature store in Kennebunkport. They were having an amazing Christmas week sale with some prices rivaling APS pricing! Amazingly- they had the Margot dress in the print that I loved in my size and at a comparable sale price to the After Party Sale! I was so incredibly excited, and bought it right on the spot. I seriously couldn't believe my luck! 😊Now I smile every time that I wear this dress since I remember what a surprise it was in how I ended up buying it.
These photos were actually taken back in May by my dad during his last visit to Virginia! He flew into the Richmond airport, so after I picked him up we spent the afternoon exploring the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. I love botanical gardens and really loved going to this one! I'm looking forward to finally sharing more Richmond travel content on the blog very soon, and I'll definitely include a recap of our garden visit at some point.
Enjoy your day- hope you're having a great week and enjoying all the beauty of summer! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog. Also- be sure to enter the giveaway below!
