2015: The Rest of My Year.

On Thursday, I shared with you all the highlights from 2015 that I had for personal fashion and as a blogger. Today's post is going to be a brief recap of what 2015 was like in my life outside of my blog!

I'm sure that most of you don't want to read a very long and detailed month-by-month post chronicling the small, everyday things that for the past year. (That would also take me forever to write!) Instead, I'll just be sharing some of the stand-out memories and experiences that I had in the past year in my personal life that might not have made it to the blog before now. I'll end the post with a few of my favorite personal pictures from 2015!

2015:

*For all 12 months out of the year, I came to the stark realization that it sucks to have stronger feelings for someone then they have for you.

*I lived and studied abroad for four weeks.

*The highlight of my year was not my time living abroad... but was instead a five-day internship that I had in May.

*I was captain of my sorority's intramural volleyball team.

*I only swam in the Maine ocean once in Summer 2015- a record low number of times.

*I got to experience my best friend joining my sorority- something that I still tear up thinking about because it was such a joyful time.

*On the note of friendship.... I finally began the process of letting go of a painful friendship "break-up" from my high school years. And got the courage to blog about it at last.

*I had a perfect 21st birthday weekend- the craziest part was sharing two birthday kisses with two boys whose names I never learned (something very outside my comfort zone if you know me).

*On the note of my birthday- this is the year that I first started traveling alone and also traveling with friends. This is possibly my favorite part out of all of being 21. #freedom

*Even though parts of 2015 definitely got a little crazy and I surprised myself... at the same time, I also continued to stay true to many of my values, and gained more confidence in doing this.

*I had my first (and last) college Halloween experience.

*I had my first 4.0 semester in college- many previous semesters I came very close, but for Fall 2015 I finally achieved it!

*I was a presenter at the annual Student Life Awards at my college in the spring, along with one of my best guy friends.

*On the same day as the Student Life Awards, very early in the morning, I scored well at the Lilly For Target launch.

*I was inducted into four honor societies at my college.

*I pulled off my most epic April Fool's prank yet... by surprising one of my best friends with a trip home for Easter Weekend.

*After four semesters, I had my last day at my incredible internship with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation in December 2015.

*I visited 12 different airports over the course of the year (in three different countries)!

*For the first time in my life, I can truly say that I have best friends. And this is a gift.

.....And most importantly.....

*I had a huge surprise this fall when I found out from my academic advisor that it actually was possible for me to graduate college on-time, in May 2016!! After spending previous six months thinking that this was impossible due to the fact that I had transferred schools after my first year, this was shocking news to me. I still can't believe that I'll be in the real world in just four months!

Not necessarily in order, some of my favorite moments from 2015:

Here's the 2016 being a year that's as full of growth and sweet memories!

  2. What an amazing year for you. It looks like it was a year of ups and downs, and I'm so glad that the good overshadowed the not so great. One of the hardest lessons I learned this year is that sometimes you have to let go of the people who bring more darkness into your life than light. It's great that you were strong enough to let go of a friendship that was so toxic in your life. It's so brave, and it's something that not a lot of people have the courage to do, so kudos to you! But anyway, it looks like your year was filled with so many successes and you have so much to be thankful for and be happy about. I hope 2016 is an even better year for you!

  16. Sounds like an absolutely amazing year for you! Enjoy your last semester! I am finishing up my master's degree after graduating from my bachelor's degree last May and I can't believe senior year is gone and now I'm almost done with my second degree! Enjoy it while you can :) But real life will be great too (or so I've heard). I hope 2016 goes just as well or even better!
