Comfy, relaxed sweaters-or as I like to call them, slouchy sweaters, are all the rage this winter. Just about every blogger (scratch that, forget just bloggers, just about every girl!) has been spotted wearing many of these this season, usually paired with relaxed boyfriend jeans and booties, and more often then not a floppy hat to top off the look as well? Sound familiar? Perhaps just reading this is bringing to mind an Instagram snapshot from one of your favorite fashion bloggers!
While there is nothing wrong with styling a slouchy sweater this way, I wanted to try and do my own take on wearing one. I like to look at trendy pieces and see how I can put my own spin on them for the blog! Since dressing up is one of my favorite things in the world, I decided to give a glam twist to my take on the slouchy sweater outfit. I paired it with my new sequin skirt, favorite everyday heels, and and coordinating tassel necklace (another trendy item!). Somehow it all came together! It was a perfect outfit for me to wear during a warm winter afternoon for classes and meetings on campus.
Thank-you to my blog photographer and bestie Mia for lending me this sweater to borrow for this post. ;-) It was so comfortable to wear that I had a hard time giving it back!
What are y'all up to this weekend? After a very uneventful weekend spent indoors last weekend due to the snowstorm, I am so excited to have a full schedule for today and tomorrow! Tonight is the Class of 2016 formal for the seniors at my college, and my bestie from my former school is coming as my "date," so it should be tons of fun! And tomorrow I am headed up to Greensboro for a fun little blogging meet-up, expect a recap next week! (And follow me on Snapchat tomorrow for updates: @miss_alk)

SO cute! I saw a sequin skirt similar to that around New Year's Eve at Target and wanted it so bad, but they didn't have my size /: I hope you have a great weekend!

I love the sparkly shirt! I did a chunky sweater post today, too. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute outfit! I'm a big fan of slouchy sweaters right now, especially with it being a bit chilly. I wouldn't have thought to pair it with a skirt like this, so thanks for the outfit inspiration!
