Ramblings:

  • Back from CMA Week: Technically I was back last Wednesday, but last week was so crazy that I didn't have time to get a Midweek Ramblings post up. I had the absolute best and most whirlwind time at my first CMA Week in Nashville for country radio! This was not only my first time at CMA Week, but my first work trip ever. And what a trip to start off with! I have so much to share about everything I learned, the experiences we had, and the country artists who I loved meeting. I'll try to get a dedicated CMA Week blog post up soon before too much time goes by.
  • Something I want to learn: Golf has been a sport that has interested me for many years. I knew a lot of people in college that were on the golf team, and a couple times I got to go with friends to the driving range. I've always wanted to learn how to play, but never had the chance. I am seriously thinking about signing up for golf lessons in 2022! There are a number of public courses in the area that I live, as well as a Top Golf. I still need to do a bit more research and price out some lessons, but I'm really getting excited to think about this. Golf is also a sport that my mom's parents played for many years, so it is cool to know I could share this in common with my grandparents (especially since I never met my grandfather as he passed away before I was born).

Weekend recaps:

  • Last weekend: I was down in Greensboro, NC for the wedding of two of my Charlottesville friends! They both have ties to North Carolina which is why they had the wedding there. This was the second wedding this year that I've had in Greensboro coincidentally, so it was also the second time my friend local Michelle has generously hosted me in her guest room!
  • This weekend: My first weekend home in three weeks, and it will be so needed. I have fun dinner plans I'm looking forward to on Friday and Saturday, and I'm also hoping to decorate my apartment for Christmas and visit a new church (I still haven't found one since moving yet).

Purchases: I am really excited for this week's buys! I've been doing mini Amazon hauls for the past couple months- September was fall tops and October was fall dresses. This month is affordable jewelry! I'll be reviewing and photographing it all once it arrives, but here's a sneak peak:

Wishlist:

Currently reading: Can't is Not An Option by Nikki Haley - This is Nikki Haley's first book, which came out when she was still governor of South Carolina. It talks about her childhood with her Indian family in small-town South Carolina, and how she became interested in state politics and eventually wanted to run. I am definitely enjoying it so far! (Whenever I share that I'm reading a political book, I always give a disclaimer that I enjoy reading political memoirs from people in both political parties! I think everyone should make an effort to read books from politicians from their own party and the opposing. 😊)

Recipe of the week: No actual cooking (I don't count microwaving things! Ha) for me over the past week as I was away for so much of it!

Song of the week: The Weekend by 88Rising and Bibi - Bibi is a K-Pop singer but this new song of hers (in English) is starting to get played a bit here in the US. It's really fun and I feel like has a Dua Lipa or Bebe Rexha sound to it!

Favorite blog posts of the week:

  • Carly - A fascinating reflection post about the pros and cons of sharing tough real life situation in real-time on a blog or other social media. Carly makes some really interesting points that are food for thought.
  • Heather Bien - I love blog posts that show a peak into someone's everyday normal life, since I find that content so relatable. This post about how Heather and her husband split up their grocery shopping and cooking responsibilities was a fun read.
  • Thrifty Pineapple - Although I'm not personally a huge Disney World person, I love seeing the enthusiasm that big Disney fans have for their Disney vacations! (Is that weird? Haha!) My friend Angela is a big Disney fan and was just down there, it was so fun to read her outfit recap of everything she wore in the parks!

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

     xoxo Annaliese
