Ramblings:

  • New favorite travel app: I've been a longtime fan and reader of the travel website The Points Guy. They have such helpful articles about everything from travel destinations to airline news to maximizing travel rewards credit card points. TPG finally launched their own app this week, and it's awesome! The best feature is that you can link all of your flight and hotel loyalty numbers, and be able to easily track in one place how many miles or points you have with every travel program you're part of!
  • October on Netflix: It's been a few months since a new show on Netflix really caught my eye. But wow- October is looking to be a great month for Netflix releases! I can't wait for You Season 3, and the new shows Maid and Pretty Smart look cute too.

Weekend recaps:

  • Last weekend: My dad was here visiting! We went to see Earth Wind and Fire in concert in Portsmouth VA on Friday night with my uncle and aunt. On Saturday morning I had a Junior League new member retreat, and then my dad and I went to lunch, the beach and mini golf. On Sunday, we picked up my other uncle from the airport (the three brothers are going on a guys beach trip in the Outer Banks this week), and then spent some time exploring at the Norfolk Botanical Garden. After my dad and uncle left, I headed to Newport News for dinner with a new friend!
  • This weekend: I am headed to Williamsburg on Saturday for what should be a very fun day trip! A new friend and I are planning to explore downtown in the afternoon, and then we will be meeting up with a group from Junior League to do Busch Gardens that evening.

Purchases: No fun purchases this week.

Wishlist:

  • This sweater dress is super flirty, and I think it'd look great with over-the-knee boots! It comes in several colors, but I really like the light blue.
  • I know we are getting out of the summer season now and into fall fashion, but if you happen to have any warm weather trips planned soon, this is the cutest mini dress!
  • This is a gorgeous wedding guest or semi-formal dress if you have any fall events coming up.
  • J. Crew Factory finally released a version of the iconic J. Crew Lady Day winter coat! The original J. Crew ones retail for almost $400, so this option is much cheaper.
  • This past weekend I discovered the world's CUTEST disposable face masks! They're currently sold out, but I want them when they come back in stock!

Currently reading: Arrival City: How The Largest Migration in History is Reshaping Our World by Doug Saunders - Still working on this more academic non-fiction book about rural to urban migration across the world. It's a pretty dense book so I'm reading slowly, but learning a lot.

Recipe of the week: Light and Creamy Tortellini Soup from A Spicy Perspective - Some colder weather is moving into Virginia Beach- today through the rest of the week the highs are only in the low 70s. That's good enough for me for soup weather! This is one of my most favorite soups to make at home, and it's on the menu this week.

Song of the week: Hit It by The Black Eyed Peas ft. Saweetie and Lele Pons - The Black Eyes Peas (minus Fergie) have been back to making new music for awhile now! Most of their new stuff hasn't done too well on the charts, but I'm still enjoying it all. Their new song Hit It has a great beat and is really fun!

Favorite blog posts of the week:

  • Glitter & Gingham - If I ever own a home someday, the thing I'd be most excited for is the freedom to do wallpaper in as many rooms as I'd like. I love wallpaper!! Shelby did a blog post breaking down all of the gorgeous wallpaper prints she has in various rooms in her home.
  • Coming Up Roses - Erica and her family did the cutest photos for their Christmas cards this year! She used the same photography service that I used for these recent photos
  • Merrick's Art - Merrick shared 20+ cute fall outfits that would be so easy to recreate with items that you already have in your closet.

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,
