Ramblings:

  • Back-Sync: I feel like the news on this really broke over the weekend while I was at the wedding so I am just catching up on this. Fellow 90s/early 2000s music lovers must also be freaking out that Lance Bass and Joey Fatone of *NSYNC and AJ McLean and Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys teamed up to form a mini super group: Back-Sync! They did a performance over the weekend, and are apparently teasing a super group album?! This is too cool! The real question is will they be able to get Justin on board? Haha.
  • Non-engagement rings: One of my favorite bloggers, Heather, is also a freelance writer. I enjoy her blog so much that I also enjoy reading her freelance pieces when I can. She recently wrote a freelance piece about how she purchased a special ring for herself in her early 30s, and the significance of doing that when it wasn't an engagement ring or gift from a romantic partner. I loved reading this and think I might set a similar goal for myself in the next few years! (Speaking of Heather: I also loved one of her own blog posts from this week and featured it below in my favorite posts of the week.)

Weekend Recaps:

  • Last weekend: I was in Greensboro for Cara's wedding weekend! I was a bridesmaid, so I got to attend all of the fun festivities before the wedding as well. Cara's wedding was just beautiful- I can't wait for her to get her photos back and share on her own blog! I stayed with my friend Michelle who lives in Greensboro, and it was great to catch up with her and also see her family.
  • This weekend: As of now, I don't have any formal plans. I was gone this weekend for the wedding and will be gone next weekend over the 4th of July, so this weekend will probably be used to catch up on the blog, run errands and read by the pool.

Purchases: No fun purchases this week again! I'm not a big Prime Day shopper normally, and nothing I browsed caught my eye this year.

Wishlist:

  • It's been awhile since I've gotten a new belt, and I have my eye on one of these. Definitely a splurge purchase, but something that would last for years.
  • This jumpsuit would definitely be work appropriate at a more casual office, and looks both cute and comfortable.
  • I've been wanting to stock up on some more simple tank tops for summer, and the ones from this brand have caught my eye!
  • One of the other bridesmaids in Cara's wedding was telling me about this new-to-me athleisure brand that she really likes for workout clothing, and now I'm super curious about it.
  • How cute is this graphic t-shirt for a bride-to-be? Would be such a cute engagement gift.

Currently reading: The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon - Just finished this one and I think it's the first romance novel I've ever given a five star rating to! It's about two staffers for public radio that have to fake being ex boyfriend and girlfriend for the purpose of a new talk show about relationships. I have only worked in commercial radio, so the insight this book gave to the culture of working for an NPR type station was fascinating! And I loved the chemistry between the main characters. (This book does have some adult scenes in it just as a heads up- definitely a bit spicier then what I normally read. Just a heads up!)

Recipe of the week: I was out of town from Thursday-Monday, so not much cooking for me this past week.

Song of the week: Outlaw by Selena Gomez & The Scene - Wow this is quite the throwback pick this week! I was going through some of my Spotify playlists this past weekend and rediscovered this Selena Gomez deep cut. It's from when she was still with her band The Scene if that says how old it is- ha! It's a great pop song and I wish it had been a hit.

Favorite blog posts of the week:

  • Sarah's Love List - Sarah shared some really cute bachelorette party planning ideas from her friend's lakeside bach bash!
  • A Touch of Teal - Katie shared a review of a sunset Potomac River cruise in DC- adding this to my bucket list of things I'd like to do when I'm up in that area.
  • Heather Bien - The only East Coast state that I've never been to is Delaware. Safe to say I'm now very much hoping to visit after reading Heather's guide to the charming little city of Wilmington!

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

  2. You both look fantastic! What a lovely wedding.
Loved the article about buying yourself a ring. I knew someone who bought herself a ring when she got a hole in one while playing golf. I always loved that! Milestones are different for everyone, and you can celebrate it anyway you want!
