Ramblings:
  • Expedia sucks: If you've seen my Instagram or Twitter at all this week, you know that I've been involved in a lengthy customer service situation with Expedia. I've been trying to reschedule a cancelled flight from 2020 that was booked with them (and I'm not able to rebook it through the airline directly). This has been the biggest customer service mess of my entire life! Normally I have decent luck with reaching companies over Twitter DM to resolve things. Things haven't gone super well with Expedia on Twitter. As of today, this has been going on for three days to try to reschedule my flight credit, and I've had no luck. They're trying to charge me more for a new flight than the prices listed online! I will absolutely be filing a Better Business Bureau complaint soon and trying to keep making them aware of this... but in the meantime all I can say is never use Expedia to book flights! I never will again.
  • Best newsletter: My friend Nicole from What Nicole Wore does the most unique and funny newsletter that I've ever seen a blogger do. I am really picky about what blogger newsletters I subscribe to- I don't like my inbox to be cluttered with links to blog posts or shopping updates. But Nicole's newsletter is so different from any others. She mainly uses it to share online dating updates from her adventures on dating apps! She rates and reviews the craziest dating app bios she finds, and her commentary is hilarious. As someone who has used dating apps off and on for several years, I get such a kick out of this. You can sign up for her newsletter here! I look so forward to it every Friday now.

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: On Friday evening, my roommate organized a group of friends together to play pickleball. The weather hit close to 80 on Friday, so it was perfect weather for that! On Saturday afternoon, I met my friend Cara at a couple wineries. We visited one that was new-to-me, and it became my 30th Monticello Wine Trail winery! I think there are 35 or 36 total, so I'm almost there with seeing all of them! This weekend I also went to Jazzercise classes on both Saturday and Sunday.
  • This weekend: I was supposed to take a friend's gender reveal photos on Saturday evening, but they got rained out. So I'm planning to do that for her this Saturday evening instead. Sunday is Easter and my roommate and our friend Annika are planning to do an Easter brunch together (the same crew I spent this past Thanksgiving with!).

Purchases:
  • I needed a new pair of denim shorts for this season, so I decided to try this pair! They're pricy for sure (I don't like spending over $50 on shorts normally) but I heard many positive reviews about them, and I'm hoping they will last me at least a few years!

Wishlist:

Currently reading: I'm Not Lonely If You're Reading This Book by Bobby Bones - Loving this book! I always enjoy reading books from those successful in the radio world, and Bobby has had an extremely successful career so far. His writing style makes his stories even more enjoyable. Whether you are in radio or not, this is a fun and easy read.

Recipe of the week: Spice-Rubbed Parmesan Chicken Breasts from Cravings: Hungry For More - This is a very quick and easy weeknight chicken recipe that I tried from Chrissy Teigen's second cookbook. I paired it with the spinach recipe that goes with it, and the rice pilaf recipe from another part of the book.

Song of the week: Sacrifice by Bebe Rexha - I've been loving Bebe Rexha's last few singles, and this one might be my absolute favorite yet. I think it pulls a lot of influence from Eastern European dance pop and it's just so good!

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Glitter and Gingham - Shelby styled some pretty blouses for spring- I love the blue lace one she wore especially!
  • Style Charade - Jenn's outfit in this post is pastel Easter perfection! I think I need both her dress and cardigan.
  • Southern Curls and Pearls - I loved reading Caitlin's birth story for her daughter Kennedy! I have read Caitlin's blog since 2012 (one of the very first bloggers I followed) and it's been so special to follow her life and career for that many years.

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

  1. I hear ya!
    Buyer Beware for sure:
Using Expedia or Hot Wire to book a flight, car or a hotel room can occasionally save one money, however when travel hits a snag or a bump(even cancellations due to inclement weather) customer service goes out the window and one ends up forgoing the money spent.
