Ramblings:
- Vaccine FOMO: I swear this article that I stumbled upon on Twitter this week was written just for me. The title caught my eye- "How to Deal With Crushing Vaccine FOMO." Uhh- yes please! I should start by saying that I am all for healthcare workers, the elderly, and others on the frontlines to be the first to get the vaccine. These groups 100% deserve vaccine doses more than I do! However, it is starting to get frustrating seeing more and more people that I personally know being able to have access to it, when I still have no date on the calendar (I'm guessing it'll still be a few months the way things are running in my health district in Virginia). It's also frustrating to see other states and counties moving at faster rates. Reading this article made me feel a lot better in knowing that I'm not alone in experiencing this weird 2021 style FOMO. Hopefully things will keep moving right along!
- The world's cheapest Michelin meal: File this under articles that make me excited to pursue international travel again someday! Typically in the US, any Michelin starred restaurants are quite expensive and exclusive. That isn't the case for all Michelin starred food around the world! This travel journalist got to experience eating the cheapest Michelin starred meal in the world- which is street food found in Singapore. I would love to visit Singapore someday and the food would be just an added bonus!
Weekend recaps:
- Last weekend: A weekend filled with lots of working out! I went to outdoor Jazzercise classes on Saturday and Sunday, and also played pickleball and tennis. On Saturday night after pickleball, a small group of friends and I went out for drinks and dinner on a restaurant patio to celebrate our friend Meredith's birthday!
- This weekend: I am off work Friday and Monday, and my dad is coming to visit! I haven't seen either of my parents since I went home to Maine in August- due to COVID-19 I didn't go home for Thanksgiving or Christmas in 2020. My dad was able to be fully vaccinated a couple months ago due to his job, so I am so thankful that he can visit me safely without any risk to himself. We have some fun plans in the works!
Purchases:
- I finally spent the Kendra Scott gift card that my roommate got me for Christmas. I got this beautiful ring!
Wishlist:
- Shopbop had a feature on their website on Monday for International Women's Day where they featured some of their favorite female fashion designers. I decided to take a look at who they were featuring, and was introduced to Azeeza. The prices of these items are beyond my wildest dreams... but everything is so gorgeous! The colors! The silhouettes! Safe to say I have a new fashion designer crush.
- One of my favorite bloggers, Heather, shared the most amazing Amazon headband find this winter that I've had saved for a couple months. Isn't it gorgeous? I have a lot of headbands but might have to snag it soon.
- A pretty green midi dress for springtime workdays and weekends.
- My job in radio is a bit casual for dress pants most days... but if I wore them regularly I'd totally scoop up this pair! I love the unique blue/grey color.
- I think this pair of affordable distressed non-skinny jeans would be Gen Z TikTok approved right?
Currently reading: To Selena With Love by Chris Perez - I am loving this book so much. It's a short and easy read. Chris Perez is Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla's widow, and he wrote this book to be an account of their romance marriage before her death in early 1995. I've been on a big Selena kick for the past few months (watching the first season of the new Netflix show about her, rewatching the 1997 movie with JLo, and listening to the new Anything For Selena podcast) so reading this book felt like the perfect continuation of my Selena deep dive of recent months.
Recipe of the week: Skillet Pasta Quattro Formaggi from America's Test Kitchen - This is kind of like a grown-up mac n' cheese! I love blue cheese and Fontina cheese, and this recipe calls for both (plus more cheeses too!). You can never go wrong with America's Test Kitchen recipes.
Song of the week: Bad Girl by Daya - It's been a few years since we've heard a new single from Daya. She had a couple hits of her own in 2015/2016, plus being featured on a Chainsmokers song. I wasn't the biggest fan of her past stuff, but I love this new single Bad Girl! A fun and different sound for her.
Favorite blog posts of the week:

- Style Charade - Jenn shared a fantastic post about the reasons she's chosen to keep her full-time day job in PR along with blogging. (P.S. Jenn is my next Inspiring Woman Interview on the blog- stay tuned for her post later this month!)

On the blog this week:
If you ever come back to Folly Beach, let me know! I'm in Myrtle and we always go down to the Charleston area for day trips. Hoping to spend a few days in Folly Beach fo my son's birthday in June.
