What's the cure to a long and cold winter season during a pandemic? A.) lots of PINK, and B.) heart balloons! Am I wearing this outfit anywhere soon that's not this Richmond parking decor for these photos? No. But did it bring me so much joy to wear it for the sake of the blog and share it with you today? YES! And I think we all need more joy right now... 😊
My coat was a belated birthday / early Christmas gift to myself a few months ago! I absolutely love the quality and look of J. Crew coats, but they are definitely investment pieces, and at full price they are quite high. J. Crew had a 50% off sale on coats a few months ago, and I jumped on it and bought their iconic City Coat in this gorgeous pink color. I can wear both 4 and 6 in their coat styles, but I went with a 6 in this so I could wear it with bulkier winter sweaters underneath if I wanted to. (I like having a mix of form-fitting and loose coats in my closet, and most of my other colored coats are tighter fitting.) It looks like it is now sold out in pink, but there are several other pretty colors on sale now!
And we need to chat about THIS DRESS from Lilly Pulitzer! 😍I first tried this on in-store in Richmond for my Holiday collection try-on blog post... and I so wanted to purchase it that day, but I just couldn't justify getting it at full price when I had zero holiday plans (or really any exciting plans) on my calendar for February. But when I saw it in the After Party Sale in January... I couldn't not buy it. Seeing this dress in my closet just gives me so much hope for life post-COVID, whenever that might be. It's definitely more of a spring/summer dress, but I thought I'd style it for a winter Valentine's look, and I'm so glad I did!
I styled this pink look with my favorite nude pumps (have had these for a few years and they're just the best), fun heart earrings from Mell's Trinkets, and my new Tory Burch crossbody bag! I guess today's post is unintentionally turning into me showcasing my two biggest recent purchases: my new coat and this new purse. I rarely spend money on purses, but I have found that bags are something worth spending a little more money on to get something high quality that will last. I've had my beloved Tory Burch tote bag that I use as my work bag since 2017, and the quality has held up so well for the last three and a half years! I have always wanted a smaller Tory bag, and finally went for it last month. I couldn't be happier! I know that this little crossbody will be with me for a long time, and I can't wait to take it more places in the warmer months especially! I love how it can be a casual purse, or dressed up for more formal outfits and events.
Okay- I think that's enough outfit talk for today! Hopefully these photos are putting you in a February and Valentine's/Galentine's state of mind as much as they are for me. 😊💗
God Bless,
xoxo Annaliese
