Ramblings:
  • I was interviewed: I am so excited (and a little nervous!) for something to go live tomorrow. A couple weeks ago, I was interviewed for the How to Radio Youtube channel! This is a Youtube show done by a fellow morning radio personality, Nick Steele. He's been interviewing really successful folks in radio to have them share their wisdom on certain job related topics. I still can't believe that I am getting interviewed for this- I definitely am a lot newer in my career than most of the other people Nick has talked to. Anyways- my interview was all about how I balance blogging and working full-time in radio, and advice for any radio folks who want to start a blog or become influencers. My video will be posted on this channel tomorrow!
  • Meal kit: So I officially decided to give a meal kit service a try! I posted some questions asking people's thoughts on them on IG Stories last week- and I got so many mixed responses. Some people said they swear by them and they're such time savers, other thought they were a waste of money. I ultimately let me curiosity get the best of me, and decided to sign up for one! My first delivery is this weekend. I figured whether I do like it or not, it'll make for a fun experience and something I can share a review of on the blog!

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: My birthday weekend, so this will be a longer recap section! On Friday after work, I did a little shopping locally to kick things off. On Saturday, I had a table reserved at a winery outdoors, and some friends came out to celebrate my birthday with me! There were nine of us... honestly I can't remember the last time I was around that many friends at once. Glad we could do it outdoors and safely! On Sunday (my actual birthday), my roommate and I did a kayaking trip with Twin River Outfitters in Buchanan! It was a blast, and we had dinner in the cute town of Lexington on the way back. I had Labor Day off at work so I spent Monday down in Richmond going to a meet up for one of my favorite radio morning shows, followed by meeting with blogger friend Stephanie of She Saw Style for tea!
  • This weekend: Planning to catch up with my friends Alicia and Tom at a winery or two on Saturday! We haven't hung out since pre-COVID so it's definitely overdue. Not sure what else the weekend will hold but hopefully it will be great.

Purchases:
  • Finally got my first pair of lululemon leggings as a birthday gift to myself! Oh my gosh y'all- I get the hype now. They truly feel buttery soft. I'm convinced I need to purge the rest of my other leggings now- ha!
  • I also got a headband at lulu to match my new leggings.
  • I used my Kendra Scott birthday discount this year for something really fun- this beaded bracelet! I love that it's magnetic.

Wishlist:
  • This is such a glamorous fall midi dress, and it's under $50! It would be perfect for winery trips this season.
  • The ideal classic preppy fall blazer- this would be a staple piece to keep for years to come.
  • This colorful striped sweater is another classic fall piece.
  • A cute $20 fall blouse in two fun colors.
  • If this were normal times and I needed some fun new fall weekend clothes, I'd definitely get this tank top!

Currently reading: Go Syndicate Yourself by Randy "R Dub!" Williams - This book would probably be of interest to only like 0.05% of you, but I am excited about it! R Dub is an incredibly successful syndicated radio personality, you might have heard of his show Sunday Night Slow Jams. He just published a book that is essentially the bible of how to be syndicated on the radio. (Syndication is having a radio show played nationally or internationally on many different stations!) It's my dream to be syndicated someday, so getting this book for my birthday was awesome, and it's already inspiring me!

Recipe of the week: Apple Crisp from Betty Crocker - Nothing gets me in a fall state of mind like a homemade apple crisp! This dessert is so quick and easy, and it's the perfect time of year to enjoy.

Song of the week: I Called Mama by Tim McGraw - I love Tim McGraw's new song- such an important message in it! I've always been kind of hit or miss on his music (some songs I love, some aren't my thing musically) but this one is a winner.

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Living Shae - Ebonee is the epitome of fall chic in this gorgeous dress and hat! This post is giving me all the fall vibes.
  • Style Charade - In honor of their 10 year anniversary, Jenn shared the full story of how she met her husband Bob. It is the sweetest love story!
  • Lonestar Southern - Kate is doing a very special fundraiser for an incredible cause! I want to buy one of the baseball caps she's selling- reading the story behind this fundraiser is incredible.

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

     xoxo Annaliese

  1. Congratulations on the interview!! You will have to share it once it is published. And there is nothing wrong with being newer in your radio career! My midday girl is only 27 and killing it!

  2. Congratulations on your interview! :) I came across your blog just now and I absolutely love it. Can't believe it didn't find it sooner! I'm fairly new to the blogging game, but love being able to inspire and be inspired myself. As a Norwegian who spent 4 years living in the U.S., I'm exited to discover the world of many great American bloggers and learn something new everyday! Have a great day! :)
