Ramblings:

  • Weird September: I find myself continually telling friends that some days I mentally still feel like I'm stuck in early March since it's been such a weird year. I think I'm past the grieving stages of 2020 at this point (I've long since accepted this year is not going to look like what I hoped), but nevertheless things are still super strange. This article perfectly summed up how I'm feeling about the start of fall / my birthday month being different than normal.
  • Dancing With the Stars: Who is watching?! I stayed up way too late Monday night watching the premiere, but it was worth it. I feel like this is the best cast the show has had in years- instead of one or two relevant stars and bunch of D-list celebrities, everyone seems super relevant! I've been most excited to see the three fabulous Netflix stars: Chrishell Stause, Monica Aldama and of course Carole Baskin- ha! Do you have any favorites so far?

Weekend recaps:

  • Last weekend: Friday was pretty quiet, but Saturday was busy. I started the day by meeting a couple friends for breakfast downtown, and then spent the afternoon at a couple wineries with my friends Alicia and Tom. My co-host Marc's anniversary was this past week, so I babysat his son on Saturday night at their home so he and his wife could have a date night! I spent a ton of my weekends in college babysitting, so this was kind of nostalgic evening for me.
  • This weekend: Some girlfriends and I are having a bonfire and s'mores night on Friday that I've been looking so forward to! It'll be a fun kickoff to fall. Saturday night I'm hoping to enjoy an  outdoor dinner somewhere downtown (gotta get outdoor dining in now before it's too cold!), and on Sunday I'll be down in Richmond working on something fun for the blog.

Purchases:

  • I am obsessed with this chic $30 fall dress I found! I got the orange floral print, but it comes in a few colors.
  • My first Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale purchase was finally getting my hands on a Luxletic skort!!
  • I also picked up this cute top in the After Party Sale.
  • More of my favorite false eyelashes! I've been wearing these for two years now and still adore them (I trim them a tiny bit to make the length a little less dramatic).

Wishlist:

Currently reading: The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory - I've heard such great things about Jasmine's romance novels, and one finally came in for me at the library! This one is about two people that meet by chance in an elevator, and end up as wedding dates soon after. I'm only a little in but it's a fun book so far!

Recipe of the week: Bulgogi Pork Tenderloin from Hello Fresh -  This was my very first Hello Fresh recipe on Sunday evening, and OH MY GOSH IT WAS DELICIOUS! I'm not even generally a big fan of pork chops- I swear this was the best one I've ever eaten. I didn't know Hello Fresh posted all their recipes online- this makes me so happy that I can share all the ones I'll be enjoying here with you, and you can make them with your own ingredients!

Song of the week: Impossible by Shontelle - Remember this throwback from 2010? I heard it at my hair salon a couple weeks ago and totally forgot about it. Such a good song!

Favorite blog posts of the week:

  • Caralina Style - Obsessed with this Lilly look from Cara- the perfect outfit to wear for a wedding next year.
  • The Thrifty Pineapple - Angela put together a helpful new Lilly Pulitzer sizing guide, and I love that she included her readers in it as well.
  • Glitter and Gingham - Shelby is wearing the fall dress I purchased this week in this post- it was so cute on her I knew I wanted it too!

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

  1. Oh! Jasmine Gillroy's books are so fun! I started reading them last fall and I've read about 4 of them. Super easy to read and fun.
