Ramblings:
  • Baby Peanut: Anyone else as enthralled as I am by the reincarnation of Planters Mr. Peanut as Baby Peanut during their Super Bowl commercial? CUTEST commercial of all time! I've always kind of liked Planters peanuts as a snack (I often keep some at work), but now thanks to cute little Baby Peanut I feel like I'm going to be on even more of a peanut snacking kick. Well done Planters haha- best Super Bowl ad in my opinion!
  • Halftime show thoughts: There seems to be a lot of controversy this week about Shakira and Jennifer Lopez's Halftime performance on Sunday night. I gotta be honest- I think I am going to disagree from a lot of people with more Christian/conservative views on this one... I absolutely loved the performance!!! It might've been my favorite halftime show ever, no lie. Both Shakira and JLo absolutely slayed. (Also how are they middle aged and still looking that good and dancing that well?) Were their outfits a little skimpy for my taste? Yes. Do I wish JLo could've avoided the pole dancing part of her routine and just kept it to other moves? Absolutely. But I did I still love the show overall? YES!!! I feel like a lot of the people complaining and making a fuss about this not being "family friendly" had nothing to say about Adam Levine and Maroon 5's Halftime show last year. I mean he literally danced half naked with his shirt off... and if you look at the lyrics of Maroon 5 songs I think that a lot of them are just as sexual (if not more so ) than what was sung this time by Shakira and JLo. Just saying! I do agree somewhat in that I wish all Halftime shows could be a little more family friendly... but I think it's totally unfair to call out these two specifically when many past shows have also featured some raunchy content.
  • Unlikely friendship: This is the most heartwarming story that I've seen in a long time- I almost teared up reading it! It's about an elderly woman in a nursing home and her unlikely new friend. For a good part of 2018 and 2019 I volunteered in a local nursing home in Charlottesville, which I feel like made me appreciate this story extra!

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: I ended January and welcomed in February with my last quiet weekend for awhile! It was so low-key but so needed. I went to Jazzercise classes Friday, Saturday and Sunday (my local studio just started a monthly challenge for February!), went to one of my favorite wineries with a new friend, did a huge Trader Joe's run, and most importantly- I slept for over 10 hours Saturday night! I can't remember the last time that happened.
  • This weekend: I'll be out of town Friday/Saturday for a travel blogging collaboration that's been in the works for awhile that I'm SO excited for!! My friend Emily is coming along and I know it's going to be a great weekend. Sunday I'll be back in Charlottesville and I'm planning to go to church and Jazzercise!

Purchases:
  • A little random treat-myself gift this past week was two pairs of darling Lilly Pulitzer inspired earrings from this shop! (Sadly the shop owner is closing her business for the time being- but I'm hoping it'll re-open again as her stuff is so cute!)
  • I picked up this cute bathrobe to take on my weekend trip in a few days! I am kind of a bathrobe fanatic- I have a ton already but I hadn't bought a new one in awhile and this one was under $20!
  • I've had this black maxi dress saved in my shopping cart for months- it's so popular it constantly goes out of stock in my size. It came back this week so I snatched it for warmer months ahead! It comes in many other colors too.
  • Some basic t-shirts that will be perfect for layering with spring outfits.

Wishlist:
  • This would be the cutest tank to wear for my Jazzercise classes or for casual summer looks! I love the fun message on it.
  • A darling little dress for a fun Valentine's option- and also something you could wear into spring.
  • I feel like every year Lilly comes out with the prettiest pink dresses in their spring arrivals! I love this new lace dress from the spring collection.
  • A classic and preppy striped sweater with a fun twist.
  • This blouse has a really loud and colorful print, but it reminds me of a shirt I used to have that I styled a few years ago in this post!

Currently Reading: Swept Away by Robyn Carr - After reading only non-fiction in January, I was ready for a light and fun fiction read again! This is my second Robyn Carr book- I read and reviewed one of her newest releases last month in this post.

Recipe of the week: Original Nestle Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookies - my roommate and I were both home last Friday night and we baked these together! Such a classic recipe and always so good. Do y'all know I'm pretty sure this was the first recipe that I ever made by myself as a kid? I remember my mom helped me cut the recipe from the back of a package of chocolate chips!

Song of the week: Yummy by Justin Bieber - I hate to admit how much I like this song haha! The lyrics are a little... well, 😳 haha! Yet I still find myself cranking up the radio every time it's on in the car. I'm really excited to hear more of Justin's new music that's coming!

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Diary of  Debutante - Stephanie shared the cutest glittery DIY project that would make darling party favors or gifts for your girlfriends! I want to try it now.
  • Heather Bien - Heather's travel posts are always the best- and I loved her honest review of Spirit Airlines. While I haven't flown Spirit before, I had a similar experience to hers when I flew on Allegiant last year.
  • Lots of Sass - I adored this fun Valentine's inspired workwear outfit from Azanique! All the colors made me shop happy.

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

  2. I am 100% with you on the Super Bowl performance. Like yes maybe she shouldn't have pole danced, but I thought they did amazing. If I could look half that good at their ages I would be happy. They are so talented too. Ahh have fun on your weekend trip
