Ramblings:
- Encouragement for singles: One page that I love following on Facebook is The Way We Met. They share love stories about how all different types of couples have met and fallen in love. Sometimes the stories are truly one in a million, and my romantic loving heart loves them. Anyways- one that they shared a few days ago might have been my favorite yet. This post tells the story of two Cambodian missionaries who didn't meet and fall in love until their late 30s. Such a beautiful story that I know will encourage fellow singles so much -definitely one of the best things I saw online this week!
- How millennials use their salaries: I loved this piece from The Wall Street Journal! It features five different millennials, each who live in a different state and part of the country, and interviews them about how they're spending and saving their entry level salaries. So interesting to see how much living costs vary in different places!
- Neck pillow hunt: I'm currently on the hunt for a great travel neck pillow for my upcoming Spain trip. Something pretty compact in size but great for overnight flights. If you have any favorites- please send them my way!
Weekend recaps:
- Last weekend: I went to my first UVA football game on Saturday! I had a lot more fun that I expected, but college football fandom is still something that's a bit foreign to me- haha! Sunday I went to church, had lunch after church with a few new friends, and then went to the gym after.
- This weekend: My friend Priyanka is visiting from Charlotte! We have a full itinerary for Saturday that includes hiking and wineries. I'm hoping the foliage will really be out in full force by this weekend!
Purchases: No fun purchases this week!
Wishlist:
- So tempted to repurchase my all-time favorite watch in its all gold version.
- I've been needing a new trench coat for the last few months, and this one isn't a bad price point for such a staple jacket!
- The snakeskin trend becomes office appropriate with this blouse.
- I love the bow sleeve detail on this darling sweater.
- Now that I've finally made it to a UVA sporting event, I want to get a cuter clear bag that's stadium approved. This one is at a great price point and is cute too!
- I am considering pulling the trigger and finally getting a Barrington tote! They're definitely more investment pieces, but I think this would be a wonderful bag to have for my Spain trip next month. If you have one of these totes and have traveled with it- I'd love to hear your experience!
Currently reading: Sex Wars by Marge Piercey. I know the name of this book sounds super weird- the title caught me off guard until I read the summary about it! This book follows a Russian Jewish immigrant who is trying to support herself in New York City in the late 1800s. Her younger sister, a fellow immigrant, came to New York without her older sister's knowledge, and has gotten caught up in prostitution rings. Her older sister is trying to find and save her younger sister, while also building a life for herself. I'm not far into this book yet but it seems interesting so far!
Recipe of the week: Apple Crisp from Betty Crocker's Cooking Basics.
Song of the week: Don't Call Me Angel by Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Ray The girl power anthem of 2019! It's been on repeat for me all week.
Favorite blog posts of the week:
- Style Charade - Jenn's fashion is always perfection, but I especially loved the look she put together in this post, which features a new Kate Spade watch! I feel like Jenn just about always looks like a walking Kate Spade ad- she's so classy!
- Juliana Grace Blog Space - Julianna shared how she painted preppy pumpkins for fall- and I totally used this post as inspiration for the pumpkin I painted for the decorating contest that my work is having.
- Chronicles of Frivolity - In general I'm not a big fan of bloggers doing try-on hauls, but I always love the ones Katey does- as she makes her try-on blog posts so much fun to read! Love some of the holiday pieces shes's styling here.
On the blog this week:
God Bless,
xoxo Annaliese

Ah, a Barrington Tote has always been at the top of my wish list. They are so nice, and it's awesome that there are so many combinations of designs! Haven't been able to justify the price yet, though.
ReplyDeleteHow fun that you’re going to Spain. Jake and I got this neck pillow https://rstyle.me/+vHpBDbnfJfut9NhlKdCdQw and it was awesome. Also, I LOVE Barrington totes. I have 2 (a white one for summer and navy for all year) and they’re my favorite. I highly highly recommend their totes. They’re my go-to work bags and great for traveling too.
