Midi Skirt with Sneakers: The 2019 Trend I'm On Board With.

The older I get, I feel like the less likely I am to try certain trends. In high school and college, I was all about it. I knew that I loved wearing bright colors and fun prints, but I didn't have much of a sense of my personal style yet aside from that.  Now I'm pretty selective about trying new trends- I don't feel pressured anymore to try ones that aren't something I'd wear if they weren't "in." Today's post though features one big 2019 trend that I'm glad I have finally come around and embraced: midi skirts with sneakers!

A few years ago, I probably would have laughed if you told me I'd someday love pairing midi skirts with sneakers! I've never been a huge sneaker girl in full honesty. I've always kind of associated sneakers solely with athletic-wear, or think of them as the certain style of "skater shoes" that certain kids in my high school used to wear exclusively (you probably know what ugly shoes I'm talking about 😂). In the last year though, I feel like fashion sneakers have become especially trendy again! I guess we can all blame that on the Golden Goose sneaker craze. I can barely fathom spending $100 on a pair of sneakers, much less several hundred dollars, so safe to say I don't see myself ever owning a pair of Golden Goose shoes haha! But I started to like the way other bloggers were styling them, so I set off this fall on trying to find a dupe pair.

The fashion sneakers I did purchase (and am wearing above) are so cute and under $20!!! Yes- under $20. Kate from Lonestar Southern and Lauren from Lauren Kay Sims both styled them and looked so cute that it convinced me to get them too. They've currently been restocked! I did go one half size small than my normal size after reading reviews they ran large.  I've also been seeing a lot of style inspo over the last few months of wearing midi skirts with fashion sneakers, so after adding this cute leopard print midi skirt to my fall wardrobe, it was finally time for me to give it a try. And I love it!! What a fun casual fall outfit it turned out to be. I feel like wearing midi skirts and fashion sneakers also looks so European- I'm probably going to repeat this outfit or one super similar in Spain next month.

One last outfit note on my t-shirt- I won it in an Instagram contest from one of my favorite local stores in Charlottesville, Darling Boutique! They're an upscale consignment shop that I sell clothing at a few times a year, and they also sell lots of jewelry and crafts from local artisans. It's a really fun shop and you must check it out if you're ever in downtown Charlottesville.

Hope you're having a great Monday- thanks so much for stopping by my blog as you start your week! This week is a busy one for me, and I'll be out of town next weekend- but I'm still going to try to get three more blog posts up for you this week! 😊

     God Bless,

     xoxo Annaliese
