Ramblings:
  • Bad kitty: If you saw my Instagram Stories from Sunday night and Monday, then you know I haven't been too happy with my cat this week! While I was on my way back from Charleston on Sunday, Delilah broke my TV when my roommate wasn't home! She somehow got up onto the TV stand and knocked the whole 40" TV over, and it broke. 😭My TV was a gift from my parents during the year I lived in Vermont, so it still wasn't that old yet! I don't really have it in my budget to purchase a new living room TV right now, so we're going to try and go TV-less in the living room for a bit. Of course my cat did this just in time for fall TV premieres week!
  • Small weddings: I'll be sharing more about my Charleston trip on the blog soon, but the main reason I was down there this weekend was for a college friend's destination wedding! It was a beautiful wedding, and one thing that surprised me how much I loved was how intimate and small it was. The bridal party was small, and all in all there were only about 40 guests! The bride and groom had only their parents and siblings there for family, and only very close friends as well (I was honored to be included!). I didn't have a plus one for the wedding and went in not knowing anyone but the bride, but since it was so small I got to talk to and meet so many of the other guests, which was wonderful. I've always thought I'd want a big wedding someday, but now I'm reconsidering!

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: In Charleston for my beautiful friend's wedding! I was also there for a girls' trip: my two friends Priyanka and Ciera were supposed to come down and join me. I picked up Priyanka in Charlotte, but unfortunately Ciera wasn't able to make it to Charleston due to the flooding from Tropical Storm Imelda in Texas where she lives! Priyanka and I made the best of it and still had a great time exploring when I wasn't at wedding events. I'm excited to share more about this trip with y'all soon.
  • This weekend: Normally my Charlottesville friends and I do dinner club on Wednesday evenings, but this week we are having it on Friday! Saturday I can finally make it to the barre class I like to go to (I've missed the last few weeks!), and on Sunday some friends and I are headed to Fall Foxfield, which is an annual horse race here in Charlottesville. The weather is going to be really hot so I might be wearing more of a summery outfit, haha!

Purchases:

  • I found the cutest grey plaid skirt for fall on sale at Dillard's! The one I purchased isn't online anymore, but this one and this one are very similar.

Wishlist:
  • This new print from Lilly Pulitzer is so fun for fall!! An easy way to bring a little color into your wardrobe for the next couple months.
  • I am so tempted to order this dress in one of its many colors for my trip to Spain in November! I'm worried it might be too cold to wear it there by then, but either way maybe I should still order it for fall in Virginia?
  • A fun and trendy designer dupe purse for fall that's under $20!
  • This leopard print t-shirt is perfect for casual fall outfits and under $20.
  • The pattern of this affordable dress reminds me of a Lilly print but for much less.

Currently reading: Rainy Day Friends by Jill Shalvis - Same pick as last week since I got a little behind on reading with traveling, but hoping to finish this one today or tomorrow!

Recipe of the week: Jalepeno Turkey Burgers from The Organic Kitchen. An easy and healthy weeknight dinner- pretty sure this recipe is for the Whole 30 diet!

Song of the week: Prayed for You by Matt Stell - I kept hearing this over and over on various country stations during my drive back to Virginia from Charleston, it's such a sweet song!

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Lauren Kay Sims - Lauren shared her favorite drugstore lip colors for fall- I really want to try a few of these, and they won't break the bank!
  • Crafty Teacher Lady - Kelly-Anne shared the last part of her love story- which was her beautiful and intimate Maine wedding from this summer.
  • Carolina Charm - Christina shared her fall Amazon favorites- I've already added a few of these picks to my cart.

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

     xoxo Annaliese

  3. Deliah!!! What a funny/terrible thing she did. Fortunately it's easy to catch up on tv shows on your computer or phone, but still.
