Ramblings:
  • Notre Dame: How heartbreaking to see the news of the Notre Dame fire in Paris this week! Selfishly, it did make me sad that I was never able to visit Paris when I studied abroad in France a few summers ago. Now I'll never be able to see the famed cathedral in its original state. 😓 On a different note, as tragic as this fire was, it was truly something to see so many world and faith leaders sharing their well wishes to France. I wish sometimes that it didn't have to take tragedy for people to show their kindness!
  • Mom's visit: My mom gets here today to visit me and Delilah for Easter weekend! It's been six months since she last visited, so it will be nice to have her here. I'm looking forward to having her here for Easter Sunday, and on Saturday I have something special planned as an early Mother's Day gift experience!
  • Home for Easter: I am so happy to be home and finally able to really celebrate Easter this year! Three years ago,  I was about to start final exams the week following, so I spent most of my Easter working on final papers. Two years ago, I moved to Vermont Easter weekend! I spent most of it unpacking. Last year, I was in DC to see the cherry blossoms over Easter. This year- I'm finally home and able to plan a real celebration for my favorite holiday! I decorated my apartment for it in March, and this weekend I'm looking so forward to wearing a nice spring dress, going to church, and then hosting an Easter potluck lunch at my place for friends from church!
Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: On Saturday I woke up not feeling great, as I'd been out really late the night before with some coworkers. Later on Saturday, I emceed a fashion show for a local boutique, and then went to Alicia's place for a wine tasting party. I ended up falling asleep at 8:30 Saturday night as I was still super tired from the night before. On Sunday I went to church, then did stuff around my apartment for the rest of the day, and had a nice catch up phone call with a friend from Vermont.
  • This weekend: I have a work event Friday evening, then a friend's birthday to celebrate after downtown. On Saturday I have an early Mother's Day experience planned for my mom (since I won't see here the weekend of the holiday), and Sunday I can't wait for Easter!
Purchases:
  • I've been looking for a new full coverage foundation, and I finally splurged and got the famous Estee Lauder DoubleWear! Belk stores were doing a fun gift-with-purchase for Estee Lauder last weekend, so it seemed like the perfect time.
  • I got these super cute shorts- I already can't wait to wear them once it gets a little bit warmer!
Wishlist:
Recipe of the week: Coconut Raspberry Muffins from Plated Cravings. These are some of my favorite muffins ever! I know I've shared the recipe before on the blog. I always start craving them if it's been awhile since I made them!

Song of the week: Don't Call Me Up by Mabel. This song is ridiculously catchy and fun, plus it has a cute music video!

Favorite blog posts of the week:

  • Southern Curls and Pearls - Caitlin is a designer handbag queen, and shared all her best tips for purchasing bags secondhand. I also loved the beautiful pictures from this post!
  • Alyson Haley - As a single woman, I related so much to this post from Haley. She shared the characteristics that she's looking for in a future husband!

  2. Aww I just love Delilah. I am so heartbroken about Notre Dame. It is so beautiful we just visited 3 weeks ago and lit a candle in memory of Jake’s grandma. That is so true that there is some beauty surrounding the tragedy. Ah so fun, I am going home for Easter too. Cannot wait!

  3. I was so sad to hear about Notre Dame :( I saw it when I was 6 and can hardly remember any of it and we ran out of film so we don't have many pictures.
