My First 101 in 1001: Final Update

This post is coming a few months late, but that's due to my blogging break this summer. Hopefully better late than never for my final update on my first-ever 101 in 1001 bucket list!!

A 101 in 1001 list is a type of bucket list where you pick 101 goal items to complete in 1001 days, which comes out to just under three years. I think blogger Mackenzie from Design Darling is the first blogger who really popularized these, but I've seen so many other bloggers over the years do them as well. I began my first-ever list in September 2019, and it wrapped up this past June. I did several updates over the duration of the list, and it was fun to do periodic check-ins with my progress! Completed total: 43
Still in-progress total: 7

Here's a closer look at the goals that I completed between September 2021 and June 2022:

     18. Write comprehensive Charlottesville Travel Guides - Can't believe it took me until I wasn't a Charlottesville resident anymore to do this, but I finally did it! And I'm really proud especially of how my main Charlottesville blog post turned out. You can check out my Ultimate Charlottesville Travel Guide and my Ultimate Charlottesville Bachelorette Party Guide, as well as all of my Charlottesville winery reviews here

     22. Reach a certain affiliate sales goal for Lilly Pulitzer APS - I was so lucky to get an enormous amount of traffic to my Lilly Pulitzer blog posts before their big semi-annual sale in September 2021. I exceeded my affiliate link sales goals and was very proud of myself!

     30. Increase my 401k contributions per paycheck - I had to wait awhile until I became 401k eligible at my new job, but finally have this set up! I am happy to contributing more to my 401k now than I was at my previous job.

     34. Get a travel rewards credit card - Did this last September, and I'm so glad I did! I used my points to fly for free to Puerto Rico this summer!

     54. Try three new-to-me types of fitness classes or workouts - This was a fun goal to work through over the past 3ish years of this 101 in 1001 list. Who knew how much I'd fall in love with playing golf!

     57. Plan a girls' weekend with my sorority friend group from college - This one might be a stretch that I'm crossing it off, but I'm going to count my ADPi sister Hannah's wedding weekend in Charlotte from this spring for this! I got to reunite at the wedding for the first time in a few years with some of my sisters, and I also got to catch up with another sister over lunch while I was in Charlotte that weekend.

     63. Plan someone's bridal shower or bachelorette party - I planned my high school best friend Julia's bachelorette party in our hometown in Maine in March of this year! Julia and her husband ended up eloping this summer, so the bachelorette weekend was extra special since it was my only chance to celebrate in-person with her.

     91. Visit Houston again - I got to visit my college best friend Ciera in Texas again last September! The last time I had been was in 2018, and I was very excited to go again. The Houston area is such a fun place to spend a long weekend.

     96. Visit North Carolina's Outer Banks - Not sure if I should give myself full credit for this as it was just for a day trip and in the height of the winter off-season... but I went! I enjoyed seeing the Wright Brothers National Memorial. Now I just have to make it to the Outer Banks in the summertime at some point!

     100. Stay at the Greenbrier in WV - This might be my favorite item I got to cross off on the whole list. I finally got to stay at my dream hotel, The Greenbrier in West Virginia! Worth every single penny. I blogged all about it in this post

And with that- my first one of these is done! I wish I had been able to check off at least 50 goals, but unfortunately I know that the pandemic happening and life changing for much of 2020 and 2021 made it harder than expected to check off some of these. I'm especially proud with how well I did in the Career section of my list! So many changes and so much growth for my day job in radio from 2019 to 2022.

I'm currently putting the finishing touches on my second 101 in 1001, which will be starting this month and going until June 2025. I look forward to sharing that new list with you soon!

      God Bless,

      xoxo Annaliese

  1. I would always end up going to the Outer Banks in late September in college for a quick weekend trip, and it was always gorgeous!
