Ramblings:
  • Dream side hustle: This dream job posting caught my eye this week- Hotels.com is looking to hire someone called a "bath boss." The lucky new hire will get paid $5,000 to take baths and rank the experience at three different NYC hotels. What a concept! It sounds too good to be true, but Hotels.com really is hiring someone for this role, ha!
  • Work trip: Some fun news to share- I'll be going on my first-ever work trip next month! My co-host Cash and our boss Eddie will also be going. I was actually supposed to be on a different work trip (solo) next weekend, but that event was cancelled for Delta variant concerns. After that trip was called off, I doubted that I'd be able to go on another one anytime soon, so this was a great surprise! There should be a lot of exciting opportunities on this trip. I can't wait for next month!

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: Busy and fun! On Friday, I got to see my Charlottesville friend Kelly! She's originally from VB and was home visiting family. We went out for dessert and a late night beach walk and it was so much fun. On Saturday morning, I had a Junior League New Member brunch. After brunch, my friend Mercedes arrived for a visit! We went to the Norfolk Botanical Garden, out to dinner, and then she came with me to the Jonas Brothers / Kelsea Ballerini concert that I was able to get tickets to from work! On Sunday, Mercedes and I had brunch at the historic Cavalier hotel, and then that evening I met my uncle for dinner.
  • This weekend: So excited for this weekend! One of my new Virginia Beach friends, Amanda, got married in 2020 at the height of the pandemic. She and her husband had to cancel their large reception plans and just did something smaller for their wedding at their home. They're finally getting to have a wedding reception, which has become an anniversary party. It's this weekend, and I was so honored to be invited! It's also 1980s themed, and I'm very excited for my themed outfit!

Purchases:
  • Some fun Amazon fall fashion finds! I already owned this hat in another color, but I purchased it in tan for this season.
  • This turtleneck sweater dress was the priciest item that I ordered at just under $40, but it looks really cute and flattering. And comes in a bunch of colors!
  • Someone in Junior League had this dress and wore it to our New Member Retreat a few weeks ago- I loved it and had to try for myself!
  • This business casual wrap dress will be perfect for church this fall or winter.

Wishlist:
  • Katey from Chronicles of Frivolity recently did a post about cropped flair leather pants, and now I think I need this pair!
  • A (slightly) sexy and pretty top perfect for nights out, and it's at an amazing price too!
  • What a fun sequin take on a little black dress. This has me thinking about NYE plans already!
  • This dress has such a unique and fun retro feel, and I just love it.
  • I love looking for unique Christmas ornaments on Etsy, and I might just have to order this Virginia themed ornament!

Currently reading: Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover - I have heard so much buzz about Colleen's books over the past couple years, but this is the first one I've read. It's about a 22 year old college student who seems to have it all, until she discovers her boyfriend is cheating on her. Her life starts to unravel, and there's also a mysterious and attractive male neighbor thrown into the mix too.

Recipe of the week: Applesauce Muffins from Taste of Home - These tasty muffins I made this weekend were actually from my new Junior League cookbook! But this recipe from Taste of Home is almost identical. The only difference is the recipe I used called for pecans instead of walnuts!

Song of the week: One Mississippi by Kane Brown - My favorite Kane Brown song possibly ever I think?! My station started playing this and I'm just loving it. Such a fun and upbeat country song, and cute lyrics!

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Summer Wind - Sydney shared some great outfit inspiration for Christmas card photos, as well as her family's cards from the past few years.
  • Heather Bien - I definitely do not have a capsule wardrobe (I like stuff! What can I say?), but I enjoy reading posts about capsules. I really enjoyed Heather's jewelry capsule wardrobe post (I think from last year?), so I was excited to see when she published a shoe capsule wardrobe post recently!
  • The Home Edit - I loved reading this home tour of The Home Edit's new brand headquarters! Also- who else can't wait for Season 2 of their show on Netflix?!

On the blog this week:
