Ramblings:
  • Schitt's Creek in real life: Have you guys seen Schitt's Creek on Netflix? My parents both watched it and loved it, so I finally checked it out on Netflix this fall. While it's not my favorite sitcom of all time, it definitely is a funny show! Like many people, I'm now anxiously awaiting the final season to come on Netflix. In the meantime, I know fellow fans of the show will enjoy hearing that there is actually a real life Rose Apothecary in Upstate New York!
  • Jerry at the Oscars: I know that I'm not alone in being obsessed with the new Netflix docuseries Cheer! (Fingers crossed they will announce a second season!) Did y'all see that Ellen Degeneres sent fan-favorite Jerry from Cheer to be her show's correspondent at the Oscars? It made me SO happy- Jerry is the best.
  • Virginia LOVEworks: It seemed fitting to share about this during Valentine's week on the blog! One of my favorite things that I've discovered in the state of Virginia are the LOVEworks signs that are found all over the state. They're made in tribute to the fact that "Virginia is For Lovers" is the famous state tourism slogan! Charlottesville has a few of them, but they're also in just about every other part of the state. You can check out the fun and interactive LOVEworks map here- if you find yourself in VA keep your eyes peeled!

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: I had the most fun girls' weekend in Richmond with my friend Emily. I was there Friday and Saturday for a travel blogging collaboration with an incredible hotel that I'll be sharing more about with you in tomorrow's post! Unfortunately Saturday night I started feeling like I might be coming down with something, and I stayed home sick all day Sunday (and Monday).
  • This weekend: One of my best friends from college, Caroline, is visiting! I haven't seen her in almost a year so it's much overdue! She has been to see me in Charlottesville before, but it was all the way back in Spring 2018, which was shortly after I moved here. I definitely have discovered a lot in Cville in the past almost two years, so I can't wait to have Caroline here again. My roommate and I are also hosting something fun for Galentine's on Saturday evening, and I'm excited Caroline will be here for that and get to meet more of my friends here.

Purchases:
  • This cute sweater, which comes in a few colors! I got it in the shade neon pink, which is actually more of a pink/purple hue. This sweater will be great to transition for spring outfits!
  • This long-sleeved shirt with the cutest sleeve details. I got it in red- I have a feeling I'll be wearing it this weekend!

Wishlist:
  • Lilly just came out with their first new bathing suits of the spring collection- absolutely obsessed with this chic one-piece!
  • I forget which bloggers I've seen feature this under $25 bathroom organizer, but I know I've seen at least a few people share it. I've been struggling with keeping a well organized bathroom since I moved into my new apartment (the layout and size of this bathroom is much different than my former one) so maybe getting this would help!
  • This polka dot dress is so cute! If I had gone to NYFW this year I could've seen myself wearing something like this.
  • This lavender lace dress looks so classy and perfect for spring occasions like showers, graduations and Easter!
  • An essential weekday blouse- I love the bright pink color it comes in.

Currently reading: All the Devils by Barry Eisler - I found this book in the new releases section at my library. I haven't read a thriller in awhile so I picked it up!

Recipe of the week: Olive Garden Zuppa Toscana Copycat Recipe from Mom on Timeout - We sadly don't have an Olive Garden in Charlottesville, and it's been a couple years now since I've been! Other than the breadsticks, my favorite thing there are their soups. This one was easy to make and I think a pretty good dupe for the Zuppa Toscana!

Song of the week: Blinding Lights by The Weeknd - I've really been liking The Weeknd's newer songs, and this one has been on repeat for me this week.

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • The Thrifty Pineapple - Angela shared this easy DIY Valentine's dessert charcuterie board, and I'm obsessed! I want to try to copy this for Galentine's this weekend.
  • What Nicole Wore - Nicole has shared some hilarious dating blog posts in the past, and her recent post where she asked her readers to share their worst dates ever had me laughing out loud!
  • Color and Chic - I have no personal plans to be a homeowner anytime soon, but I still loved this informative post from Hoang-Kim about the decision to build a home.

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

     xoxo Annaliese
