Ramblings:
  • Most embarrassing radio moment: I had a super funny situation happen over the weekend related to work! I pre-record a Saturday morning show that airs on my radio station from 6-10am on Saturday mornings (I have weekends off so I'm not physically at work to do it live!). I usually pre-record it on Thursdays each week. When I did it last Thursday, I talked about how excited I was to shop Bath and Body Works Candle Day, which would have been happening Saturday when the show aired. I mentioned that candles were marked down to around $8, which is what they were last year. On Thursday when I pre-recorded, I hadn't seen any information online yet that prices would be raised this year. I got to Bath and Body Works to shop on Saturday, and I was a little bummed to see that the prices raised to $9.50 this year- but still not a huge deal. Anyways, I was in line to check out, and I was behind a lady in line who was complaining to the clerk about candles being $9.50 instead of $8. She told the clerk that she had heard on the radio on the way to the mall about how candles this year were supposed to be $8. I'm right behind her in line and hearing all of this! I felt so bad for the poor clerk. I was too embarrassed to say that I was the voice on the radio talking about it, haha! I think that's the funniest work related story I've had in a long time.
  • Netflix Christmas movies: Personally I am not a fan at all of Netflix Christmas movies (I think they're even tackier than a lot of the Hallmark ones haha), but I still found this infographic to be super interesting! Netflix shared it on their Facebook page over the weekend- basically it shows how all of their original movies are all interconnected in some way.
  • Pigeons in the news: Best news story of the week! Have you heard about the Las Vegas pigeons that were wearing hats? This is the CUTEST and funniest story.

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: On Saturday I woke up to do an early fitness class, then headed to the mall! I did Bath & Body Works Candle Day and then finished most of my Christmas gift shopping. In the afternoon I went to a friend's Christmas orchestra concert, and then bowling with a different group of friends that night! Sunday I went to church, and then spent most of the afternoon in a sorority advisor meeting. If you missed it- last month I started volunteering as an advisor for the Alpha Delta Pi chapter at UVA!
  • This weekend: My work Christmas party is Friday night! On Saturday I have plans with a friend from church to bake Christmas cookies, and Sunday afternoon I'm headed to a winery with some girlfriends. Should be a great weekend!

Purchases:
  • This week I mainly finished the majority of my Christmas gift shopping- it's so great to be just about done! I only have one friend left to buy for (and the gifts I have in mind for this person are on Amazon Prime 😊)
  • My other big purchases of the week were at Bath and Body Works Candle Day on Saturday! I'm all stocked up now for winter and spring/summer.
  • I did also purchase a new pair of jeans! I've heard great things about these jeans for years, and finally decided to try a pair for myself.
  • I meant to buy a new pair of black pumps on Black Friday, but I ended up waiting and purchasing this pair during an extended Cyber Week sale online,

Wishlist:
  • I'm a huge fan of the Lilly Pulitzer Luxletic line, and I really want these leggings! They would be perfect for winter workouts.
  • My friend Caroline wore this under $30 dress to her work's holiday party, and it was so cute on her!
  • I literally own like 50 mugs and probably never need another mug as long as I live... but if I did I'd want this cute initial mug.
  • This embellished hair accessory would be so fun to wear for holiday parties.
  • If you're a floral lover like I am, you'll love this blouse and its winter appropriate colors.

Currently reading: Hot Mess by Emily Belden. I'm about 1/3 of the way through this one! So far it's kind of predictable (and a lot of things the main character does are driving me nuts haha!), but it's exactly the type of light and fluffy read I was craving this week.

Recipe of the week: Shortcut Mac n Cheese from How to Cook Everything The Basics. It's one of my goals on my 101 in 1001 list to finally make at least one recipe from all of my cookbooks (and I own a lot!). I hadn't made anything from this cookbook yet, this mac n cheese was pretty easy and a yummy weeknight dish! My favorite mac n cheese is still from Chrissy Teigen's cookbook though.

Song of the week: Dance Monkey by Tones & I - this song reminds me so much of the Romanian pop music that I love and listen to on Spotify!

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Lizzie in Lace -  Lizzie shared an honest review of trying and using Bumble BFF, and why it ultimately didn't work for her. I tried Bumble BFF a couple years ago and was not a fan! I personally found it worse to use than Bumble for dating.
  • Extra Petite - Jean has some of the best workwear inspiration around, and I loved her ideas for December!
  • Style Charade - I loved this colorful outfit from Jenn, and these photos feature the cutest photobomber ever!

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,

      xoxo Annaliese
