Ramblings:

  • Yesterday's post: I feel so badly that I didn't have a blog post up yesterday for y'all! I meant to finish it Monday after work, but I forgot that I was doing blog photos with my photographer Kate in the afternoon as well! We shot some really fun summer content that I'm looking forward to sharing with you this month and next. Anyways, since I go to bed so early on weeknights I wasn't able to finish it for yesterday. This month's Tuesday blog post series is all about my favorite things, and I can't wait to kick it off in tomorrow's post! Promise it will go back to Tuesdays next week. 😊
  • Polo Sundays: Here's a rambling especially for my Charlottesville/Virginia friends, but this weekend I went to my first Sunday Polo match of the year at King Family Vineyards! King Family is my favorite local vineyard, and they have a large field for polo matches on site. Every late spring and summer Sunday that the weather is nice, they host matches that are free to attend! You can bring blankets or a tent and spend the picnicking and tailgating with your group. I had an absolute blast, and am looking forward to many more this summer. I only made it out once last summer!
  • Devotions: At the start of this year, I decided to begin two different 365 faith devotional books that I'd received for Christmas. I read the the shorter of the two in the mornings before work, and the one that's a little more in depth at night before bed. Historically, I haven't always been the best at finishing devotional or faith related books. I really wanted to make an effort to change that, especially since I read so much fiction haha! Anyways, I'm pleased to report that at about the halfway through the year mark, I'm still totally on track with both of them! If you are like me and have found it hard to prioritize time to read the Bible or faith books, I want to challenge you to try again! Find a time to read each day at make that work for you. It's never too late to start again!
Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: On Friday night, my friend Emily and I went to Richmond for a concert, but it sadly got cancelled right before beginning due to lightening and flash flood warnings. On Saturday I was back in the Richmond area, but thankfully the weather was much better. My boyfriend (!!!) took me as a plus one to a wedding that he was invited to. 😊 Sunday was church and then polo at King Family!
  • This weekend: Going to be super busy, but I'll finally be in Charlottesville for most of it (I've been gone most weekends lately). Friday night I have a work event, and Saturday morning my church is doing our monthly service project! I was out of town last time they did that so I can't wait to attend. Saturday afternoon I have a date to look forward to! Sunday I don't have big plans aside from church yet, but I'm looking forward to that. It's been a crazy few weeks, and I see Netflix time in my future for Sunday!

Purchases: Currently doing a two month shopping fast! I'm planning a blog post with more info about why I'm doing that later this month.

Wishlist:

  • I don't partake in nightlife nearly enough anymore on weekends to have a need for this cute dress- but it is adorable
  • I love Lilly Pulitzer keychains and have had my current one for quite some time. These keychains are such a fun, unique take on Lilly!
  • I love gallery walls and never put one up in my current apartment. I really want to hang one in my new place when I move in September- I have these gallery wall frames saved online!
  • Stephanie from Diary of a Debutante shared this chic one piece swimsuit this week on her blog, and now I'm crushing on it! It comes in so many colors.
  • I love jumpsuits and I love Lilly Pulitzer- but I don't have any Lilly jumpsuits (yet). This one from their new arrivals is adorable though!

Recipe of the week: I was really bad this past week and mainly ate leftovers or frozen foods (busy, busy week!), but I'm looking forward to jumping into more new recipes this month. This recipe for chicken looks tasty and easy, and it's saved on my Pinterest right now!

Song of the week: Cross Me by Ed Sheeran ft. Chance the Rapper. Brand new from Ed Sheeran- I love it! I personally like this song much better than his other new one with Justin Bieber.

Favorite blog posts of the week:

  • Brighton the Day - I ADORE Brighton's new series where she styles multiple outfits all in one theme! It's inspiring me to think about doing something like that.
  • Life with Emily - I read all of Emily's book review posts, but this past month's had some titles in there that were especially appealing! I added a lot of these books to my to-read list.
  • Color and Chic - I'm a former competitive figure skater, and I think it's so cool that Hoang-Kim is as well! She shared all about her childhood figure skating journey in this sweet post.
On the blog this week:
     God Bless,

     xoxo Annaliese
