Ramblings:
- Temporary wallpaper: I've lately become obsessed with the look of temporary wallpaper! I really want to do an accent wall of temporary wallpaper when I move into my new apartment later this summer. The only downside of it? It isn't cheap! I keep being on the hunt online to find some cheaper options for it, and this article was a great resource! If you've ever done this in your apartment or home, I'd love to hear details.
- DIY wedding cake: Have you seen this incredible DIY wedding cake that's going viral this week? One bride layered several basic sheet cakes from Costco with the most beautiful flowers, and turned it into a fancy wedding cake! Is it bad to say I kinda sorta want to try something like this at my wedding someday?
- Maine travel content: We're less than a month out from my summer trip home to Maine! I've done a few small travel blog posts through the years about my hometown and home state, but never a full on Travel Guide! I'd love to know what type of content you'd be interested in reading about from Maine! Or would you be interested in me vlogging my trip? I will be taking a blog and social media trip while I'm there, but of course look forward to recapping stuff on the blog in August.
Weekend recaps:
- Last weekend: Both mellow and productive at the same time! I spent time working on the blog on both Saturday and Sunday, which was much needed and helped me really get ahead on planning content for the rest of summer. I also went to barre class, Saturday brunch with girlfriends, had an impromptu GNO downtown with other friends, and had a lot of pool time!
- This weekend: Cara is visiting!! She's one of my last friends from Charlotte who hasn't been to see me in Charlottesville yet, so I'm so happy she'll finally get to visit. We're spending Friday night in Richmond, and then will be here the rest of the weekend.
Wishlist:
- I keep seeing this cute set of packing cubes popping up from different bloggers, it looks like it would make packing for a travel a lot more fun!
- Absolutely obsessed with this incredible Lilly Pulitzer print in this dress style- thank goodness I'm doing a shopping fast right now or I totally would've gotten this dress.
- I can't vouch for the quality as I haven't bought these myself yet- but this is an incredible deal on some really cute pairs of earrings!
- Since I had my first good experience with a bathing suit from Amazon recently, I am so tempted to try more of them. This high-waisted bikini comes in many colors and is adorable!
- This dress would be a darling option for July 4th!
Recipe of the week: Maple Banana Bread from Pastry Affair. This is a healthier take on banana bread- between the whole wheat flour and the sweetener just coming from the maple syrup. I made it Sunday night to enjoy for weekday breakfasts this week, and it's very tasty!
Song of the week: Panini by Lil Nas X. Well folks- looks like the guy that gave us Old Town Road will not be a one hit wonder after all! I like Lil Nas X's EP way more than I expected to- Panini is a serious bop!
Favorite blog posts this week:
- Katie's Bliss - Katie wrote a fantastic post comparing two incredible vacations she's been on: Italy and Greece. This is a great resource to read if both of these countries are on your travel bucket list!
- For All Things Lovely - Megan was a bridesmaid this weekend in fellow blogger McKenna's wedding- and she wrote a tribute to their blogging friendship on her blog. This gave me all the feels!
- Chronicles of Frivolity - Katey put her own unique spin on last week's National Wear Your Lilly Day, and shared this heartfelt post with her sister.

Ooh, I love that DIY wedding cake idea! As someone who LOVES baking and DIY projects, I'm probably going to insist on creating everything possible for my own wedding, so it's nice to know that there's super easy ways to make something that looks incredible 🙌 Also, that maple banana bread sounds amazing!
