Ramblings:
  • Best small towns: I loved reading this article this week about the best small towns to visit in America! I've added several of the Southern ones to my travel bucket list. Surprisingly I have also never been to the town that got picked as number one in my home state of Maine!
  • How to find cheap flights easier: I am always looking for new ways to save money on airfare! I bookmarked this article from travel deals website Scott's Cheap Flights all about hacks for using Google Flights better. Google Flights is already an incredible tool- I can't wait to try some of these things myself! I also shared a blog post earlier this year about my personal tips for booking flights which you can check out if you missed it.
  • Doing wedding makeup: My cousin is getting married in Maine next month (partly why I'm headed home!), and she asked me to do her wedding makeup and a few of the bridesmaids as well! As much as I love doing my own makeup, I don't have a ton of experience doing other peoples. This past week I've been practicing wedding makeup looks on my friends, who have been so generous as to lend their faces! I've tried everything from very light looks, to heavier eye makeup and darker lips. If you've ever done your own makeup for a wedding or done someone else's wedding makeup, I'd love any of your tips!
  • Next month's blogging break: I'm doing something quite out of my comfort zone next month- taking a blogging break! I'll be taking 10 days off from the blog when I go home for vacation with my family next month. I really want to be present and fully enjoying my time in Maine, and I think it'll also be good for my creative process to have a true vacation! Anyways, I have five fabulous bloggers who will be guest posting in my absence! I didn't want to leave y'all without content for too long. These women are all some of my personal favorite bloggers, and I'm honored they're helping me out!

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: My weekend had a little bit of a rough start, but ended very mellow and restful, which was so needed. My friend Abigail came to hang out at my pool on Saturday afternoon, and on Sunday after church I went to a couple wineries with Alicia! All of the girl time was so great.
  • This weekend: Another mellow one here in Charlottesville is on deck, which I'm totally okay with. It's been weeks since I've been able to go to my Saturday barre class, so I can't wait for that. I have friends visiting for the next two weekends, so I hope this one includes a lot of sunshine, pool time, and rest!
  • I couldn't resist this Amazon swimsuit this week! It's already arrived and it looks even cuter in person. Under $30 and comes in a ton of colors.
  • Not a recent purchase- but I wanted to link the maxi dress I'm wearing in the photo above. It's still in stock and so great for summer!
Wishlist:
  • The most darling preppy raincoat that's perfect for brightening up a cloudy day!
  • I love using fun clutches for evenings out in the summer. This one makes the cutest bold statement!
  • I own this design already on a tumbler- I really want the t-shirt version to coordinate!
  • I'm starting to become obsessed with the idea of doing an accent wall of peel and stick wallpaper in my new apartment. Wouldn't a wallpaper like this one be so pretty?
  • This swimsuit is a similar style and pattern to one I had and loved in high school- I'm so tempted to get it.
Recipe of the week: Confetti Cupcakes from The Back in the Day Bakery cookbook: My co-host Marc's birthday was yesterday, and I baked him these cupcakes! They're a totally from scratch version of Funfetti. The only change I made was finding a different frosting recipe (I made a Nutella frosting since that's Marc's favorite!). This is the first time I've used this cookbook, but I can't wait to try more recipes.

Song of the week: Cum de te Lasa by Mira: My latest favorite Romanian song! This song has a soft sound and melody, and is just really pretty to listen to. I wish I could understand the lyrics haha!

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Design Darling - This post from Mackenzie is literally why I've recently become obsessed with peel and stick wallpaper in home decor!
  • Lonestar Looking Glass - Alice wrote her travel guide for Myrtle Beach, which is one of my favorite places ever!! I always love her travel guides, and this one made me want to go back to Myrtle ASAP.
  • McKenna Bleu - McKenna is a bride-to-be this month! So excited for her. She shared some darling picks for wedding shoes in this post.
On the blog this week:
     God Bless,
