Ramblings:
- Exhaustion: Now that sorority recruitment (aka the most emotional week of my life) is over, my body seems to be going into a state of extreme exhaustion! My sleeping at night has been so strange for the past few days, probably since I'm still not used to not have recruitment practices until the late hours every night! I've had to skip a couple of classes this week and my internship due to intense migraines, and napping has been my best friend. The last time that I felt this yucky and sluggish was the jet lag that I experienced this summer after returning home from studying abroad. I'm hoping to be feeling my normal self by this weekend again.
- Covering recruitment on the blog: Last year I did a little recap post of my sorority's recruitment days and also our Bid Day celebrations. (Read it here!) Last year was definitely fun, but this year took that to completely new levels. Partly because I am a senior and there is sentimentality that goes along with that, partly because I gained new respect for Alpha Delta Pi after my internship with the Fraternity Communications Association this summer, and mostly because one of my best friends went through recruitment this year and ended up choosing to come home to ADPi!! I would love to write about all of this in-depth more here on the blog and also share pictures, but my question for you my readers is, are my recruitment/sorority experiences something that you all enjoy reading about? I do enjoy posting lifestyle content in addition to my fashion posts, but I want to make sure that it's relevant or interesting to all my readers. :-)
- October = exciting month ahead! While September for me was filled with sorority, sorority, and more sorority commitments, this month will give me some awesome opportunities and also again give me time to re-focus on my blog! I'm so excited because this weekend my mom is coming to visit me in Charlotte for her first visit in two years. Then I will be traveling out of state for two weekends this month!! (And not home to Maine at all. ;-) ) One of my goals for senior year was to travel within the Southern US as much as I could and take advantage of seeing places down here that I hadn't seen yet before graduation. I'm so excited to be crossing off a few new places during this month!
Purchases:
- I did a bunch of my sorority sisters' hair for recruitment this year, so I went into Ulta last week to buy one hair product that I had left at home in Maine. #mistake. I walked out with like five new products and my latest paycheck completely gone! The product that I wanted to re-purchase was this one- a great volumizing hair product that I've been using since last year). I also can't wait to use more of things that I bought from the same brand!
- I scored some adorable new shirts for the cooler months at Target this week! My wardrobe and style is defined by bright colors and bold patterns, so it was one of my style goals for this upcoming season to invest in more neturals and basics for my closet! My favorite new shirt is probably this simple yet chic top that I picked up!
- Y'all can officially call me basic... I finally own a blanket scarf!! I purchased my first one last weekend and I can't wait to pack it on my travels that are coming up this month. Here is one that's really similar to mine!
I finally was able to take some outfit photos yesterday evening so I'm excited to be blogging those tomorrow! Not only was I super busy last week with sorority stuff, but it has been raining in Charlotte for about a week now! Hopefully after this weekend the sunshine will find its way back to NC!

I'm glad we are both now members of the blanket scarf club. I bought one last week and then another today...they're so warm and cozy I can't resist! As for reading about recruitment, I would totally LOVE hearing about your experience. I think it's so fun to get little glimpses into your life!
ReplyDeleteGlad that October is giving you time to re-focus on other areas! Recruitment sounds really hectic but fun! I'd love to learn more about your experience - one of my best friends was in a sorority, so reading about recruitment reminds me of her!

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about your body being in a state of exhaustion. I feel like I'm so busy with so many things, and I can't seem to crawl my way out of it. I know it'll all be worth it though. Yay for your mom coming to visit! It sounds like your senior year is already shaping up to be an amazing year. I'm so jealous of your blanket scarf purchase. I want one SO BAD!
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear a recruitment recap! I think those are the sweetest and most fun posts to read :)
