2021 Apartment Christmas Tree + Decor!

The first year that I went all out and decorated for Christmas was the year that I graduated college and was living back in my first apartment.  Since then, I've never missed a year in sharing my Christmas decorations and tree on the blog. This year I only had time to snap a few quick iPhone photos of my living room, but I'm glad I was still able to capture a few photos. It is my first Christmas season living in Virginia Beach after all- and that's worth celebrating!

I think this year's tree decoration might be my favorite ever. The last time that I did some of these more elaborate and breakable ornaments and all of the ribbon on my tree was back in 2017- the last Christmas before I adopted my cat Delilah! She was really naughty around the Christmas tree in 2018 during the first holiday that I had her. Thankfully each year since she's paid less and less attention to the tree, and last year she ignored it 99% of the time. So I felt brave enough this year to bring some of my more breakable ornaments and all the ribbons back out, and fortunately Delilah has left it all alone!

I've had this white artificial tree for the past few Christmases, and it is this one from Walmart. Is it the highest quality or best looking fake tree out there? Probably not. But is it really affordable and can it look decent with a lot of fluffing and decorating, and be a good tree for apartment life? Absolutely! I'd recommend any of the trees from this brand if you're looking for something reasonably priced that you can get a few years out of, before upgrading to a more permanent artificial tree.

I also snapped photos of a few of my new ornaments for 2021. The team at Vera Bradley kindly sent over two of their fun 2021 ball ornaments, my friend Cara sent me a You Look Great ornament from The Carla Marie and Anthony Show merch line (our favorite podcast!), and my favorite new one of all is the cute little Virginia Beach ornament that I found at a local beach shop last week, which commemorates 2021 being the year I moved here

I'm flying home to Maine for Christmas this evening for the first time in three years! As excited as I am, I have to say that the whole Omicron variant has kind of put a damper on everything. It is really concerning how many fully vaccinated people are getting breakthrough cases in the past two weeks. I just got my booster shot last Friday, so hopefully that will help me. I know I can't be alone when I say it is so frustrating to have gotten vaccinated three times now and still feel anxiety about getting COVID and possibly having to quarantine. Ugh. Just had to be real for a second!

      God Bless,

       xoxo Annaliese
