Ramblings:
  • MUST WATCH new TV show: I found and binged the absolute best new show this past week. It's called Girls5eva and it's on the Peacock streaming service. It's about a one hit wonder girl band from the early 2000s that reunites unexpectedly after a rapper in 2021 samples their old song in his new music. Two of my favorite movies of all time include 2Gether and Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping which are both satirical takes on the pop music world, and this show has the same vibe and humor to it, which I loved. I seriously cannot recommend this show enough- it's an easy watch and so funny! Here's a fun article interviewing the show's creator with some details and context about the original music in the show.
  • BTS article: Another pop culture article I enjoyed this week! If you are a fan of Top 40 music or pop culture, you've probably heard a fair amount of buzz about K-Pop band BTS over the past few years. They've managed to do something that few K-Pop bands have done and successfully crossover into the US music market! Although I do know some of their songs, I didn't know much about the band themselves, or how they got to where they are now. Rolling Stone just did a great interview piece with all of the members of BTS- I really enjoyed it! K-Pop is truly such a fascinating genre of music.
  • Prayer request: Friends- could I kindly ask you to be praying for an unspoken prayer request for me this week? I hate to leave this so vague without many details... but at this time I'm not able to share more (once I can, I absolutely will!). There is something I have to make a large decision about in the next week and a half, and I'm very stressed and anxious about all of the possible options. I would appreciate your prayers this week so very much!

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: Felt like the first "real" weekend I've had since early March 2020! I went to my friend Sierra's bachelorette weekend and bridal shower in Richmond. We did her bachelorette party Friday night at the Quirk hotel, and then went to a bridal shower for Sierra at the groom's parents house (also in Richmond). Sierra is getting married on the West Coast and none of our Virginia friend group is able to make it, so we were thrilled to celebrate her this weekend. Sunday was a very chill day of Jazzercise, watching church and grocery shopping.
  • This weekend: My aunt and uncle had always lived in Connecticut, but last year they bought a new house and moved down to Eastern North Carolina. I'm looking forward to visiting them this weekend and finally seeing their new house and town!

Purchases:
  • I've had my eye on this matching loungewear set for months, and it recently went on sale so I decided to finally scoop it up. It looks so comfy, and I love the colors!
  • For the past couple of years, I've had one very beloved pair of skinny jeans for everyday wear. They aren't the cheapest, but they last well and are incredibly comfortable (and look good on!). I finally bought a second pair

Wishlist:
  • This short ruffle sleeved and high waisted bathing suit is so fun and retro!!
  • How gorgeous are the dresses in the three new Target designer collections?! This neon number from Christopher John Rogers is just stunning.
  • I'm continuing on with my 2021 resolution to wear more cute matching pajamas to bed each night instead of old college t-shirts and athletic shorts. I love these summer pajama sets.
  • I had no idea this sassy and flirty little number was actually a romper!
  • I recently got my first pair of shoes from this brand, and I love them! I now have my eye on some of their summer sandals.

Currently reading: You're Not Enough and That's Okay by Allie Beth Stuckey - Still working through this one this week. Allie explores the obsession in modern culture with the term "self love," and examines how many people's interpretations of self-love and self-care differ from what the bible and Christianity have to say about this.

Recipe of the week: Crack Chicken Pasta Bake from Taste of Lizzie. T - This has to be one of the tastiest (and easiest) casseroles that I've made in quite awhile. It is absolutely delicious, and I think it would also be good without the chicken and just with the pasta. Add this into your weeknight meal rotation and you won't regret it!

Song of the week: Hold On by Justin Bieber - I'm hit or miss on some of the songs from Justin's new album Justice! Some I love, some I'm meh on. Hold On has definitely grown on me- I love how catchy it is and the lyrics are also incredibly motivating!

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Style Charade - Jenn did a great job styling some of the gorgeous dresses from Target's latest designer collaboration!
  • Carolina Charm - Christina's blog has really become one of my favorites in the past year. I love her Weekend Rewind posts so much- her family is adorable and I love reading what they do each weekend.
  • The Small Things - Kate was a full-time hair stylist before becoming a full-time blogger, and she breaks down the current trend of not washing your hair as often from a professional standpoint. This was such an interesting read!

On the blog this week:
