Midweek Ramblings.

Ramblings:
  • Car shopping: Here's an unexpected life update! I was hoping to postpone buying a car for another year or two, but my beloved old car finally reached its end this past week (aka getting to the point where repairs would've cost more than the car itself). Yesterday I began car shopping! My old car was my first car that I've had since high school, so I am a total newbie when it comes to all of this. I am hoping to be able to report that I have new wheels by next week's Midweek Ramblings post! If you have any car shopping tips, I'd love to hear them.
  • Patient Zero interview: New York City area's first case of COVID-19 was reported on March 2nd, one day after my friends and I returned from a girls' weekend in NYC. "Patient Zero" fortunately survived, and he was finally able to be interviewed and share his crazy story- it's a fascinating read!

Weekend recaps:
  • Last weekend: Another super quiet weekend at home (hopefully one of the last of these?). I did some more cleaning and organizing in my room, watched more Gilmore Girls, did Jazzercise workouts at home, and did some more cooking and baking. Sunday evening my girlfriends and I had another socially distanced picnic... which was great until my car started breaking down on the way home, haha!
  • This weekend: Finishing up all things car buying, if that isn't finished up during the work week. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous so hopefully car stuff won't hold me up from another socially distanced picnic or two with friends.

Purchases:
  • I've had my current Macbook case for over three years, and I still love it! The top part is still in great condition. The plastic part on the bottom has seen some wear and tear, so I ordered a new bottom from the same store. If you need a new computer case, I can't recommend this shop enough!
  • I've needed a classic new black blazer for quite some time, and after finding one 70% off this weekend I got it!

Wishlist:

Currently reading: Heartstopper by Joy Fielding - Week three of still working on this thriller. With all my car stuff this week I still haven't had much reading time lately. I am hoping to finish it this weekend.

Recipe of the week: Beef Empanadas from Delish - I made these a few nights ago and they were tasty! I did add cilantro to the beef mixture which I think made them better. While they were delicious to eat right out of the oven, it is noteworthy that they didn't taste great as leftovers reheated.

Song of the week: Kiss Me by Sixpence None the Richer - A little blast from the 90s past! This has been a favorite song of mine for a long time, and we played it on the Morning Show this week and it just made me so happy!

Favorite blog posts of the week:
  • Caravan Sonnet - My friend Rebecca shared some really exciting news: she's beginning the journey of becoming a foster parent! I couldn't be happier for her.
  • Lonestar Southern - Wanderlust is starting to set in after two months of staying home, so I loved this post from Kate about her Southern travel bucket list!
  • Oh What Sight to See -  Hannah shared some casually chic outfits that are perfect for if working from home gets extended into summer.

On the blog this week:

     God Bless,
