Midweek Ramblings + Recent Purchases + Current Wishlist.

{A snapshot from the most beautiful winery I visited this weekend- my 6th one since I moved to Virginia! Follow me on Instagram @miss_alk}

Ramblings:
  • Women Who Love Wine photoshoot: Yesterday morning I had the chance to do something super fun! Kate, one of my new blog photographers here in Charlottesville, has been doing some creative projects with the Women Who Love Wine Instagram and blog, and I got to model for one of their shoots yesterday. Women Who Love Wine is the most fun Instagram account (with a crazy amount of followers too!), so it was so fun to meet its founder, Ashley, and get to be apart of one of their upcoming campaigns. I'll share some photos from it soon!
  • Funny video of the week: Do y'all follow John Crist? He's a hilarious comedian, I've become hooked on his Youtube videos over the past year! A lot of them poke fun of millennial Christian attitudes and some of the culture of modern church, which I really get a kick out of. One of his latest videos actually isn't related to faith stuff at all, but it still gave me a great laugh! It's all about how some people order food at restaurants... the whole time I was watching this all I could think was "YES! I totally know people that do this."
  • Housewarming party: I am so excited for this weekend! I am hosting an informal housewarming get together at my apartment, to celebrate my first few months in Charlottesville and all of the new friendships I have made. This is the first party I've hosted at my new place, and I can't wait. I just love entertaining!! I never had a housewarming in Vermont, but my old roommate Ciera and I did have one in our Charlotte apartment two years ago- you can read about that in this blog post! Speaking of Ciera- she's coming to visit Charlottesville for the first time this weekend, and will make it to the party which is so fun.

Purchases:
  • This week I bought my dad's Father's Day gift, and also purchased spur of the moment tickets to a concert in DC this fall. So no fashion purchases, but I am looking forward to my next DC trip! 😀

Wishlist:
  • I saw this pink dress on Instagram this week and am kind of obsessed with with! I already have a dress picked out that I already own for the wedding I'm going to in July.... but low key I really want to get this one instead.
  • This purple jumpsuit is a little different than most jumpsuits I've seen, but it's eye-catching and fun! It would be so cute for summer nights out.
  • Okay this is a huge splurge and a WISHLIST item for a reason- but I love the pretty periwinkle blue color of this crossbody bag! It actually comes in four colors.
  • Isn't this the ideal dress for weekends? Would be great for everything from brunch to shopping to weekend adventures to church!
  • Second hot pink dress on this week's wishlist... I can't help that I love this color!! This dress is more tailored and office appropriate than the dress linked above.

Recipe of the week: Rolled Cocoa Cookies from The Better Homes and Gardens Ultimate Cookie Cookbook. Thanks to everyone who gave me crowd pleasing cookie recommendations in last week's Midweek Ramblings post. I ended up making some cut-out chocolate cookies with frosting from one of my cookbooks, and they turned out wonderfully!! I never use my cookie cutters so I thought this would be a fun excuse to break them out.

Song of the week: Solo by Clean Bandit ft. Demi Lovato. I am a HUGE Clean Bandit fan- however I'm not as big of a Demi Lovato fan historically. However- this song is pretty hot!! I swear Clean Bandit could make a song with anyone and I'd probably like it.

On the blog this week:

     Hope your week is going wonderfully! Thank you as always for taking the time to read my blog!

     God Bless,

     xoxo Annaliese
