Ramblings:
- Turning the data off: I found on last month's cell phone bill statement that I almost went over my data limit for the month! It's been a very long time since I came close to exceeding my data limits. I think it might have been due to the fact that not spending so much time on a campus anymore (where I was always connected to wifi) means that I'm not using my phone anymore, but simply using data more! Anyways, this past week I've been trying to shut off my data when I'm in the car or at work, and to just run off the wifi in my apartment when I'm home as well. It's already made a world of difference! Not only am I spending less time on my phone when I'm out of the house, but I've barely used any data this month (and I'm free to use my Spotify Premium in the car without worrying about the music taking up data!). I'm traveling home at the end of the month so I should have lots of data left over for all of my travels.
- NC exploring: This weekend Cara from Caralina Style and I are headed out for a fun day trip on Saturday! Cara is the same blogger bestie who I attended my first Carolina Cup event with back in April, and we always have fun on our adventures. We will be meeting up with a couple other bloggers as well (including another dear blogger bestie of mine!), so be sure to follow us both on social media for updates about our fun weekend plans. The place that we are going to is in a part of North Carolina that I've never been to before... I love exploring the beautiful state that I now get to call home, so I'm extra excited!
- 90s music lessons: This was my last week of babysitting for both of the wonderful families that I worked part-time for during my senior year (the elementary school year in Charlotte ends this week, so these jobs are coming to an end as well!). One of the families that I work for has two sweet elementary school aged girls. For the past month I have been taking them to swim team practice each afternoon, and this week on the drive over I started playing my favorite 90s and early 2000s pop playlist on Spotify in the car. The girls surprisingly loved it, and I have turned them into little Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC fans- it is the cutest thing! Since I am possibly the biggest 90s boyband fan on the planet, I feel like I have done my good deed to society for the summer. ;-)
- Nordstrom Rack Deals: Read more about the amazing deal that I found at my local Rack store below, but also check out this cool article that I found which explains Nordstrom Rack's interesting mark-down process!
Purchases:
- So this week I purchased something that was the best bargain I've ever gotten! That is a very bold statement, considering how much shopping I've done in my lifetime. Anyways, if you follow me on Snapchat you know what I'm talking about, as I rambled on excitedly this weekend right after this all happened! This past Saturday I popped into the Charlotte location of Nordstrom Rack, hoping to find some deals on Kendra Scott or other designer jewelry brands. I wasn't too thrilled with the jewelry that they had in stock that day, but there was a large shipment of 7 For All Mankind jeans! Most pairs weren't marked down very much, but I dug around the racks and managed to find a pair that was marked down to $19.99, that's 90% off!! When I went to checkout, I learned something even more amazing, the jeans had been marked down to 0.01 as apart of Nordstrom Rack's elusive penny deal. Yes- one penny for designer $200 jeans. The article that I linked above in the Ramblings section of the post shares a bit more about how Rack does their penny deals. Anyways- these are the jeans that I got! Sadly I couldn't find them online for a penny, but they are here if y'all would like to see.
- A big purchase that I made this weekend (big in both price and literal size) was buying a gorgeous gold floor length mirror for the living room in my apartment! It was one of the final finishing touches for putting this room together. I found the mirror that I bought at Home Goods, but this one is similar!
I hope that everyone is having a great week! Stay tuned for Friday's post where I'll be sharing some pictures from my college graduation senior photos.
xoxo Miss ALK
I still am in shock over that $0.01 deal!!! I can't wait to go to Rack again and try this out :)

Okay, one, those cupcakes are huge and look so good. Two, whoa I need to shop with you. Three, I always have the same problem with data. I do not know why I don't just have unlimited data.

Can't wait to see your mirror in future Instagram/snapchat posts! Also, I totally feel you about data usage this month. My brother ALWAYS hogs our family data. We found out this past weekend that we were almost at our limit and we still had a week to go until it resets. So, needless to say, I haven't been able to use data when I leave the house. I don't go anywhere much during the day anyway, but when I do leave it's nice to be able to totally unplug! Spotify premium is great, though, isn't it?! I'm so happy I can still listen to music!

I need to go to Nordstrom Rack ASAP to check out all of the awesome deals. :)

Oh the data struggle... I share data with my family (I think there are about 7 of us on the plan) and I don't think the tension gets as high as it does when our data gets to 90%! Hahahaha oh the struggle.
ReplyDeleteEither way you're too cute! I'm glad you're enjoying my hometown. Charlotte has a special charm about it, doesn't it?

Airplane mode is amazing when you're trying to save data- it saves your battery too! So bummed that I'm missing the meetup- we'll have to hang out before you leave for Maine!

I love Nordstrom Rack finds. I wish I had one closer! Don't even get me started about data use. I share a plan with my brother and he takes us over the limit every single month.
ReplyDeleteYour mirror sounds SO pretty! I can't wait to see it!
